I think you’re wrong. Hollande is a weak liberal, but he is a Frenchman. The region he comes from is not inundated with Muslims like Marseilles and some of the the areas around Paris. I think he is picking up what Sarkozy started because it is the only way to go. He has been flirting as much with Putin as with Obama, but the French are in the thick of i beside ust, so give credit where credit is due.

Believe it or not, Dennis, but in the 1950's immigrants to this country had to have the promise of a job here in writing, and an American sponsor before coming to this country.

In 2015, the roles are reversed. Instead of giving the promise, today's immigrant receives the promise of food stamps, free health care, and education.

I doubt that they had a guaranteed job... jobs were easy to find in the early 50’s if you were willing, but he still made the guarantee, and would have done what he had to do to honor it, I’m sure.

People who slam the French should take a look at history. ONE time since our Revolution (which we won thanks to the French), France has not been beside us in wartime. That was when we went into Iraq. They were beside us in the FIRST GULF WAR, and have been with us in everything since. I’ll take France to EVERY OTHER ALLY, including England!
