US President Barack Obama has signed into law an initiative aimed at bringing electricity to 50 million people in sub-Saharan Africa by 2020.
The Electrify Africa Act of 2015 will give legal backing to Mr Obama's flagship Power Africa scheme, which is trying to improve access to electricity through public-private partnerships.
It took nearly two years to be passed in both houses of the US Congress.
About two-thirds of people in Africa do not have access to reliable power....

I think most people are making huge assumptions here that the money will be used as intended. It’ll be used to prop up tinhorn dictators and their corrupt bureaucracies. Very little will go to lighting Africa.
It’s already paid for...isn’t it? Thank you Paul Ryan and McConnell. Can’t wait until you’re answering to Trump or Cruz. Hope you choke.
That’s why establishment politicians are not getting the votes. Bernie for the rats, Trump or Cruz for the pubs.
This should all change once Trump and/or Cruz get into office.
So what are they paying us for or help? Diamonds? Rare Minerals and metals? like Gold maybe? It had better not be for free at the expense of American taxpayers.
