LePage married a Canadian, and their daughters were born in Canada. Having one US citizen parent did not get them automatic US citizenship, it seems.

And yet PEOPLE HERE, completely ignore the OBVIOUS FACT... Cruz was born in Canada, was a Canadian citizen until VERY recently, and can’t even produce an America BC like Obama did. Why are we pretending that he is eligible?

Cruz/s big problem is his Canadian citizenry. So sit back, relax, and enjoy Cruz/s Slippery Shuffle....as he twitches and turns to escape from this one.

<><> If Cruz/s parents declared US citizenship for him in Canada, then he has a Canadian-issued document called a Consular Report of Birth Abroad.....the legal equivalent of a US Birth Certificate.

<><> Cruz either has one from the time of his Canadian birth or he does not. If he does not, then he is NOT a US Citizen.... (he was never naturalized by his own admission).

More importantly, Canada at the time of Cruz/s birth did not recognize dual nationality. So it appears Harvard-educated Cruz schemed to dupe Texas voters by the charade of renouncing his Canadian citizenship that never was when the Dallas Morning News exposed him.

Cruz either has the Canadian-issued Consular Report of Birth Abroad, which is his legal proof of US Citizenship, or he doesn't. Would appear his parents never applied for it....making Cruz a bonafide Canadian.

Significantly, Canada prohibited dual nationality at the time of Cruz/s birth. If Cruz can/t produce a Consular Report of Birth Abroad, there's a little problem with the US Senate office Cruz holds now (and was elected to under false pretenses) .......not to mention his doomed aspirations to be US President.

==========================================

The Dems have access to the CRBA thru State archives and you can rest assured they know the truth and have set a trap.

That is why Cruz supposedly sealed his US birth documents. They don/t exist.

Cruz is putting us thru this fiasco for his personal career advancement. Nothing more. If he really cared about us, or this country, he would have settled this years ago.

======================================

He/s lining his pockets with campaign contributions, borrowing campaign money from Goldma Sachs, knowing he is not qualified? What does that say about his character and integrity?

This could also amount mail fraud---if Cruz made falsified assertions WRT his eligibility to raise money as a US candidate.

Well my Philippines-born daughter did not have to be naturalized — she was a U.S. citizen at birth, never breathed a breath of air as a non-U.S. citizen and never had to go through the naturalization process. All I did was apply for a U.S. Passport, which essentially “claimed” her U.S. citizenship. This has been my personal experience, so I’m not sure what this LePage guy is talking about. Seems to me, if his daughters went through the naturalization process, it was unnecessary.

Exactly.

Look folks - it doesn’t matter what Vattel said - the standard for NB citizenship in America is jus soli. Always has been, and hopefully always will be.

Maine Gov. LePage, my Canadian-born daughters "had to be naturalized, they couldn't be natural"

His daughters were naturalized?? What naturalization procedure did he follow?

The daughters had to be “naturalized”? They weren’t US citizens since birth? That’s odd.

I was born overseas, and I’ve been a US citizen since birth. Didn’t have to go through any naturalization ceremony ...

Then when the were 18 they went before a judge, raised their hand, and swore loyalty to the U.S. What date was that?

Well governor, show us the naturalization documents. You can provide those in conjunction with Trumps tax returns for efficiency.
