What is your particular interest in Aspergers, or the Aspergers diagnosis?

As you can see, many families and people with Aspergers do find it to be a useful term.

Closed too soon. Whether we call it pervasive developmental disorder NOS or high-functioning autism or Aspergers, it serves to describe people with certain commonalities.

A friend of mine was wrongfully diagnosed with it. He had his property and bank accounts confiscated by his abusive family with help from the state of Maine. They told him he was worthless and stupid because he had Asperger's and he was doing good up till that time. They said they had to do it "for his own good" to make him eligible for programs and SSI.

In fact the main reason I am a republican, a conservative and a patriot is because of this. I found out this is not uncommon.
