Every time I’ve dealt with the state offices I can see how they could be automated or subcontracted to minimize costs. Instead they look like welfare offices with most of the employees fat and slow. Essentially, they are welfare jobs. At least at the level I deal with.

Like school systems, their primary function is to employ loyal Democrats. If they actually manage to issue a driver’s license, that’s just luck.

I’ve dealt with many entities at various levels.

The idleness, waste and intentional silly makework would bankrupt any for-profit business in less than a year.

They have another thing in common: Fat Tammy the secretary/office manager/admin assistant, whose only apparent duty is to roam the cubes and offices asking people what they want to order for lunch (Fat Tammy chooses the provider of course). Fat Tammy wears her twin sets and ‘comfort waist’ trousers and is never seen again after said lunch has been delivered.
