Until we recapture the true meaning of elected officials as representative servants, and use our tongues to reinstate that fact, we will suffer the consequences of our own folly
Deeper than PC mania that has skewed culture, government role titles have been reconfigured to instill reverence over familiarity. The repetitive wrongful identification of officials has produced a mindset far different from the original intent of government.
All this to say that weve inadvertently changed our relationship to government by allowing changes in address to occur. At the top of the list is how we refer to elected officeholders weve fallen into the habit of calling them leaders. Too many of us have a tendency to say that were looking for someone to lead in choosing a candidate for high office.
Bureaucrats and Clerks.
Drones (think DMV staffers)
Civil serpents (and not even all that civil)

Without invoking Godwin:
Nazis behind desks
Inadvertent? I think not.
“In any sufficiently advanced society, civil servant is semantically equal to civil *master*.”

Had the misfortune to listen to Obama bang on (again) about ‘investment.’
Government expenditure, especially to cronies, is not investment. It does not require courage or discretion to spend the money of others or to borrow astronomical sums on their behalf without their assent or knowledge.
Eaters of Our Sustenance
Wealth Consumers (and any member of the public not on the dole, must always be addressed as “Wealth Creator”)
This is fundamental. Note how socialist always shift burden of proof on us and notntheir government system: it has never been well tried before, give it a chance; you have no say in figuring if welfare recipients deserve your money, you must pay taxes... etc...
The whole “automatic bureaucracy” is automatic on us, not on them.
Power consolidation aka incest and inbreeding without chivalry, all entitled. It is no wonder corruption and lack of morals is their #1 priority. Obama embodies all that “style”.
I always am a little disgusted how we are solemnly warned that when we corresponding to an elected official, to be extremely polite and to never use rude or angry language.
Meanwhile lobbyists walk in the front door with bags of cash and speak to them anyway they want.
Warning us to be very careful, to have a respectful and polite tone, is the advice one gives to a peasant on how to deferentially speak to a monarch.
Bastards all.
“government role titles have been reconfigured to instill reverence over familiarity. “
So true. And it’s everywhere. It’s really seen in the cult of the Presidency. We are treated to endless stories about them and their lofty sacrifice. It’s a pension for life. It’s telling us how the weight of the office prematurely ages them. They are the most pampered human being on earth and it’s ridiculous. They have free medical care with no limits, the best that humanity can give.
They have chefs that whip up gourmet and healthful meals at the snap of a finger.
They drink and eat only the best of anything to be found.
They take more vacation in a year than most people take in a lifetime. And any one of those vacations will cost more than several lifetimes of earnings for a normal person.
Unlimited golf, beach trips, Colorado, Jackson, skiing. Literally anything on a whim.
When the dauphin travels overseas, the Secret Service literally collects up his poop lest an enemy learn something of his health.
Andrew Jackson, US Grant, or Jefferson or Adams would be astonished.
