That this argument or debate is NEVER settled and always has to be scab-picked again and again ad infinitum is proof positive that it is invoked and repeated endlessly for the sole purpose of denigrating America. The argument is never held to decide upon a conclusion. It is held to trash the US and for no other reason.

Has Brian Williams ever had a history class? Has he ever read a book about the war? I’m sure he has, but you couldn’t tell that from a statement such as this. He made a good living though — while it lasted — being a pompous, ignorant, lying, pain in the ass. Brian Williams — one of the reasons I gave up watching network news ages ago.
My Father was in a staging area in the Philippines in August of 1945 awaiting orders to ship out to Japan for the invasion.

How does he figure we did this in “anger”? Our military does not react and fight based on emotion. That’s liberal thought. This was not a fit of anger but a very seriously thought out decision. We knew it would cause major damage and loss of life and it was not taken lightly. In the end we came to the conclusion that it was the quickest way to end the war.
I’m very ‘offended’ that Mr. Williams would make such a statement.
