Former IL Republican Party Chair Says Trump Can't Win, Hillary Better Alternative
CHICAGO - Former Illinois Republican Party Chairman Pat Brady, told Bill Cameron on "Connected to Chicago" that Donald Trump "cannot win the election." Brady, who is a Kasich delegate to the Republican National Convention, said there's still an outside chance that Trump will not receive the nomination. Brady told Cameron that Trump's solutions are not Republican solutions and that Trump's lack of organization ensures he will lose.
Brady said neither Abe Lincoln or Ronald Reagan would attend this year's convention because of Trump, and that he's not surprised that many members of the Illinois GOP Congressional Delegation aren't attending - although they usually don't.
Regarding the presumptive Democrat Party nominee, Brady told Cameron that FBI Director James Comey is "one of the most highly respected law enforcement people in the country" and that he had "no quarrel with his decision not to bring forward" an indictment of Clinton.
Brady admitted that no matter what happens, he's "certainly not voting for Donald Trump" in November; and thinks that four years of Hillary Clinton might be good in that it will allow the Republicans to get the Senate back in 2018, which he presumes the Republicans will lose this year. Brady said he "cannot stomach the idea of Donald Trump being in the White House for a minute," and that Hillary Clinton is a better alternative.
Brady's philosophy is: "If we're going to wreck it [the Republican Party], let's wreck it all the way" arguing that the GOP has to get off the social issues and back to what he describes as Ronald Reagan's themes of "national security and fiscal issues" (NOTE: Reagan ran on his now famous three-legged stool of free enterprise, strong defense, and pro-family social policies).

Ill Senator Mark Kirk has also gone fully liberal Koolaide.
Just like the Republicans in California, they decide to run as Democrats, even though they are profoundly beaten every election. Their response? “We must become more liberal!”
They either don’t get it, or don’t want to get it.
Today, when Pat Brady was interviewed by Rick Pearson, on WGN, I heard Brady say that, in the fall, he won’t vote for Trump or Clinton.
A conservative cannot get elected in Illinois. Best we can hope for is a middle of the roader (RINO) who tries to hold the line on the Marxist fanatics who control the democrat party.
Sen. Kirk has been liberal for at least the last 15 years. I live in his congressional district. During most of the time that he was in the U.S. House (2001-’11), his ratings from Planned Parenthood were 100%, and his ratings from Gun Owners of America were 0%. He frequently votes for unconstitutional pork barrel spending, including spending for HUD, Headstart, local police departments, and commuter trains.
The sad thing is .. Trump’s solutions USED TO BE REPUBLICAN SOLUTIONS.
But, these comments show why Illinios is in such a terrible state, while Indiana is flourishing under a Repub Gov using Repub solutions.
The left will never get it.
....such as Jebbie, Romney...Kasich....and other signers of the pledge to support the Republican presidential candidate
If you mean GOPe republican then I agree...If you are carping go somewhere else

Although my comment was directed primarily at the GOPe, because they are in charge, the Republican Party as a whole is certainly not blameless. It is the base that has allowed the establishment to run amok like it has election after election when it should have been held accountable. Government spending and debt keep rising, government keeps growing larger, and our freedoms keep shrinking under Republican majorities in congress. These are not conservative principles, and by and large the current incarnation of the Republican Party is not really conservative in my opinion.
We desperately need new solutions and a new direction in the party. I think Trump-Pence can start the process of reorienting the party’s priorities and principles. That’s just my opinion.
As for your suggestion that I go somewhere else just because my thoughts may differ from yours, may I remind you that I’ve been on FR a lot longer than you have and I have been contributing comments and making financial contributions the entire time. I don’t kowtow to thought police and will post where ever and when ever it pleases me.
Please see my #47. Its related.
My comment about carping is in regards to the current nominee. Jim has made it very clear....FR is not a democracy nor necessarily a free speech arena.
Trump is the nominee. The voters have voted. His policies are ones I can easily get behind....How about you?
I have supported Trump for a long time. And I like his pick of Pence for VP.
We need to shake up the Republican Party. It has lost its way.
I’ve never had any issue with the administration of this site. And I’ve been on it for a very long time.
To correct a misspelling in the headline. It should be ILL instead of IL.
“Illinois Republican” is lunatic-speak for Democrat.
*YEEEEEAWWWWNNNNN* Wow, my ears popped...
Another “conservative” traitor smoked out by the Trump Effect.
Then we are all on the same page
Happily so
All I did was ask for clarification of your stance....I did that because there have been one or two who damn by feint praise
Sounds to me like Kirk isn’t just a RINO, he’s a DIABLO.
You know, I don’t have a problem with people who don’t like Trump. I wish they did, but that’s their right in our democracy. But at the same time they have a responsibility to make their arguments using facts rather than on unfounded speculation and pure emotion.
In America we can agree to disagree, or at least that’s how it should be. And then we cast our votes and live with the results. That’s our system.
Trump has a huge (pun intended) challenge ahead of him. I hope he’s ready for the battle of his life. Because this election is for all the marbles.
Let Trump be Trump. Ignore all polls. Get Out The Vote
I just wish that folks who are onvious dems would change their affiliation and quit living a lie
bkmk
