Engaging with China need not be a zero sum game: Obama Administration’s Pointless Confrontation with China over the South China Sea Amidst concerns over how a Trump administration will interact with China, especially with respect to trade, China’s President Xi Jinping told President-elect Trump during their recent telephone conversation that “The facts prove that cooperation is the only correct choice for China and the United States.” According to a statement from President-elect Trump’s presidential transition office, “the leaders established a clear sense of mutual respect for one another, and President-elect Trump stated that he believes the two leaders will have one of the strongest relationships for both countries moving forward.
Praying ever more wisdom to Donald as he deals with these complex and important issues.
It does not seem to me a sustainable situation to have an imbalance of trade. If there is going to be trade it should effectively be a barter based system.
Speak softly and carry ..........
Immediate tariffs until these are fixed:
1) Using prison labor we can’t compete with
2) Stop industrial espionage on US companies
3) Meet the same standards of quality as US manufacturing.
Arguing to bring back Clintonian “Constructive engagement” does not seem a good idea.
