It's also instructive that politics seems to play the same role in a liberal's life as religion does in a conservative's. Being a liberal is part of their identity; when their candidate loses, it's a blow to them!.
And, just like religion, their politics are a matter of faith, founded on dogma -- neither arguable nor a product of rational thought.
