You are 100 percent right in the cities. And you may be right in general.

I am no coward but I have come to realize that going to a rally where you are going to be vastly outnumbered and know the police aren’t going to help is brave, but short sighted.

I dont want to be Custer.

I’ll go to Trump rallies on Staten Island where I’m surrounded thousands of Italian conservatives.

I’m not going to a rally in that cesspool across the water.

MRAPs are kinda a large overkill for police. What looks to be needed is about 100 updated DUCK’s based on the Gulf and E.Coast to be used in flooded areas. They would really help now in Houston, but they no longer really exist in the military. We had LARCs in VN..great for swim outings in Cam Rain Bay.

There was a great episode of RENO:911, in which they were given a Humvee. Not an MRAP, not a Stryker, just a plain ol’ Humvee. None of them could drive it.

One can even say about modern political correctness what one can say about a stopped clock. It’s right twice a day even though not for the right reasons.

I hold the opinion that ALL swat teams need to answer directly to the locally elected sheriff.

In my cursory inspection of the comments here it appears that most freepers agree that this is a bad idea. That said, is there anything we can do to stop it?

It may be too soon, at best, for Donald to reverse this. Let war be war. Let policing be policing. Call on the appropriate agents to carry each out.

Could it be possible to get Bannon involved on FR?

I have no doubt Donald means well. But he needs wise advice.

I could get behind something like that. A "rapid response team" for a county, or Sheriff's district, or something. The need *does* exist, on occasion.

But not for every Smalltown, USA.

Swat teams will be able to kill more innocent and legally armed citizens who are trying to protect their homes when the swat teams screw up the addresses.

I like it but he’s got Breitbart. I’d lve to see Bannon take advantage of our forum.

I think Trump is just trying to undo a lot of what Obama did that can be undone without Mueller going after him.

I’m sure freepers would agree with me that Obama’s adding of 97,000 pages of government regulations per year would have completely destroyed the USA when continued under Hillary Clinton.

Obama was adding 97,000 pages of government regulations per year.

Trump saved America.Trump not only stopped that but is further reducing government regulations.

Hillary would have continued those Obama policies. That would have turned the USA into Venezuela in a short time.

People have no clue that this happened or if they do , do they even get it that government regulations were choking businesses.

Trump reducing government regulations is why the economy is improving so much. I guess only people that run businesses realize this.

http://www.breitbart.com/big-government/2016/12/30/obama-oversees-record-year-regulation-97000-pages/

America , freedom ,property rights etc. last as long as Trump is president , not much longer after that. You are cutting off your own head if you don’t fight for Trump.

I don’t think even rational people could disagree with stop ing that except for democrats who love regulation.

I agree.

Cut the snake off at the head, as they say, and all this hardware won’t be necessary.

#3: "BAD idea and I think the founding fathers would not like it."

Hear, hear! Amen! This really does border on fascism. I don't want America to become another South American s*** hole ruled by paramilitary cops.

If unrest is so out of control that normal police can't handle it, then call out the National Guard.

“I’m not cheering this. That equipment will be used against us.”

That’s why I oppose this too. I do not need President Trump to create Obama’s domestic military force so the next Democrat President can use them against conservatives and Christians.

The founding fathers sought to protect citizens from civilian law enforcement carried out by the military except in national emergencies.

That's all out the window now. Can't tell civilian police from military these dayz.
