NFL Owners: The Dumbest Collection Of 32 People In America
DB Daily Update ^ | 11.13.2017 | David Blackmon

Be honest, you’ve thought it for a long time: The owners of teams in the National Football League are, as a collective group, not very bright. The ham-handed way they and their mouthpiece, NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell, have handled the ongoing player protests of the National Anthem proves that their group decision-making skills rise no higher than those of that herd of cattle out on Farm Road 888.

It’s not that they lack intelligence – they are, as individuals, mostly highly intelligent people. Yes, some – like the Luries, the Maras, the Irsays, the Halases and the Krafts – are legacy NFL names who inherited their respective franchises and great wealth from their parents. But most, like Jerry Jones, Tom Benson, Robert McNair and Stan Kroenke, are very smart business people who who earned their money as entrepreneurs. These are highly-intelligent people who are highly-motivated to maximize their profits, and have long histories of success in doing so.

Yet, you put these people into a group setting, and they appear to have no better decision-making skills than the average 3rd-grader. If you want proof of that, look no further than the ongoing negotiations to extend Goodell’s current contract with the League, where he has now been Commissioner for a dozen years.

In those dozen years, Goodell has already managed to loot the NFL’s owners for more than $200 million in various forms of compensation, and his compensation for the current year is an unbelievable $30 million.

So, this collection of owners have already made this clown fabulously wealthy for doing a job that could be performed extremely well by any of 10,000 senior executives in this country, most any of whom would be more than happy to take it on for a fraction of what Goodell is currently knocking down.

Wow.

That is incredible. I had no idea Goodell had managed to take in that much payola!

Over 200 million! Isn’t that a couple of bucks for every NFL fan? To be managed this horribly?

It’s worse than that, because they are most certainly not dumb people. They’re doing it on purpose.

By keeping Goodell they have condemned the NFL. This is the ultimate in socio-economic Darwinism. They are the dinosaurs and we are the comet.

Good riddance.

Here’s to an empty Super Bowl, plunging ad rates, and tv ratings in the crapper. Cheers!

What are their motives.

Liberals love to say a big chunk of the country is stupid for “voting against our interests”. But they don’t know our interests and only look at things from their own point of view.

I don’t know what the owners want from the NFL. Revenue and growth (in the US at least) do not seem as important as I thought 18 months ago.

“What are their motives.”

Not worth wasting the time to think about. Just sit back and enjoy the collapse!

The owners are between a rock and a hard place.

The employees (the players) are, in part, hard core liberal (i.e. racist) blacks who are not very bright and are susceptible to the influence of the race baiting culture prevalent in liberal circles.

The customers, the fans, are for the most part conservative, patriotic Americans.

The owners are mostly successful businessmen who have no earthly idea as to how to thread this needle.

And to add a final note, the employees do not see the teams as business franchises, they see them only as sports teams.

IMO, the players are about to learn a major lesson in how businesses operate.

"I don’t know what the owners want from the NFL."

They provide half of the bread and circuses needed in today's America. The liberals provide the bread (welfare). Are you not entertained?

and my state gets hit the hardest..

we built that billion dollar stadium that is already falling apart, looks like crap, and has the acoustics of a empty cement box (cuz it is)...

We’ll use the mess to hang that POS around the necks of all that supported it in the next election.

I’m as baffled as everyone else by the owner’s inaction regarding Goodell.

In my opinion, most of these major sports owners, do not own these franchises for the week to week income that they provide. I’m not saying they aren’t glad to see revenue come in, I’m just saying it is not their primary motivation for owning a team.

What they want is to buy a team for $200 million and sell it 10 years later for a billion, or buy it for a billion and sell it for 3 billion.

Well I don’t think that’s going to happen now. The value of these NFL franchises is not going to increase if fans are staying away, sponsors are leaving, stadiums are half empty, concession and gear sales are off and TV revenues are down.

I believe this is what is upsetting Jerry Jones and others.
