The Evening Campaign Update (Because The Campaign Never Ends)
The all-knowing, all-seeing, omnipotent “global warming” can now change your personality. No kidding. So claim researchers at the Columbia Business School (why are researchers at a “business” school studying global warming?). “As climate change continues across the world, we may also observe concomitant changes in human personality,” reads the study, published in the journal Nature on Tuesday. Hey, it’s already working on me – every time I read an article about some fake study making some increasingly bizarre claim about the effects of “global warming”, it pisses me off that much more.
San Fran Nan is even more confused than normal today. As I write this, she is now in the 7th hour of conducting what can only be termed a “filibuster” on the floor of the house, having been standing there reading stuff since mid-morning. The trouble is, the filibuster rule only applies in the senate, where she has never been a member. The creeping dementia she’s been displaying over the last several years has finally set in for good. Sad!
By the way, in case you’re curious, what San Fran Nan is really doing is putting on a show for the DACA “kids” (average age: 26), because her party is about to toss them under the bus in the budget negotiations, so that they don’t get blamed for shutting down the government again. Early this morning, Chuck Schumer and Mitch McConnell announced they’d reached an agreement to fund the government for the remainder of FY 2018 and through FY 2019, removing all the sequester caps in the process.
The deal includes half a trillion dollars in new military and domestic spending over those two years, so all the budget hawks in the House are going to hate it. But the deal does NOT include any language on the DACA issue, which is going to throw the Democrats’ leftwing base into a frenzy of rage, yet again. Pelosi and Schumer obviously made a deal with members of their caucus that she would conduct her fake “filibuster” for show on the floor of the House so that none of the Democrat members of the Senate would conduct a real filibuster and potentially kill this deal.
In the end, the Democrats are going to agree to this deal to get their hands on more domestic money they can buy votes with in exchange for a promise on a DACA vote next week. Which, of course, means they are getting literally NOTHING, since McConnell and Speaker Paul Ryan already made that promise as a part of ending the 14% government shutdown that took place just a few weeks ago.
Pelosi and Schumer are betting that their voters are too stupid to remember that little reality. Sadly, they’re probably right.
The one chink in the armor on this deal is whether the President will sign it when it comes to his desk. He’s made it very clear he wants a comprehensive deal on immigration issues included in any budget deal, and that is obviously not a part of the Schumer/McConnell deal. On the other hand, the deal does include most of the increased military spending Defense Secretary Mattis has asked for, and President Trump probably has little real objection to the increases in domestic spending that it includes.
It also seems unlikely that the President would be at all enthusiastic about having a vote on a “clean” DACA bill, given that that issue is his real leverage in getting concessions out of the Democrats on border security and other immigration reforms. Absent that leverage, none of those reforms will happen. Period. Also, since the deal would well and truly bust the budget in a huge way, it would also likely be the death knell for any unfunded infrastructure plan Mr. Trump has stated he wants to pursue.
His campaign promises on immigration, more than any other factor, is what got Donald Trump elected. And poll after poll shows strong majorities of Americans supporting the President’s position on those issues. Is he willing to just let that all go in order to get two years of increased military spending? Because that’s what this deal boils down to for him, and he knows that better than anyone.
The next 48 hours are going to be a very consequential time for our country.

Repubs need to create “shifts” (one person per shift) to sit one hour per shift listening to the Botox hag and wear her down until she drops over. (Hopefully to never speak again = called “verbal burnout”).
Ignore her and let her blab for 6 weeks if she so chooses.
DACA was never legal.
Presidents don’t have the authority to make illegal aliens into legal aliens.
Deport them as their phony deferrals expire.
Remove ALL illegal aliens.
Don’t wait until they kill someone.
Trump continues to play even some people on our side who don’t get that he negotiates from strength & gets what he wants, one way ir another.
They are going to insure the number of illegals obtaining de facto amnesty continues, while any real immigration reform is blocked by Dims & RINOs amnesty and Daca demands. Its a legislative stalemate under which more illegals keep coming with no additional immigration enforcement rules obtained in any legislation. NOT solving the illegal immigration problem works fine for the Democrats & true immigration reform without amnesty won’t get past the Dims & RINOs.

I agree, I think we are being played either way. Illegal immigration is doing what no other war mongering and threatening adversary could come close to doing to America.

With additional MILITARY dollars and border security being a NATIONAL SECURITY issue...will Trump send the military to the border if he does not get a deal with Dems?
That could be next.
