The former FBI agent who announced his retirement from the federal agency in a New York Times column Friday after claiming the “relentless attacks on the bureau” made it “impossible” to continue working there, promptly received a CNN job as a law enforcement analyst in less than 48 hours.
Josh Campbell, who until a few hours ago, billed himself on his Twitter account as an “assistant” to former FBI Director James Comey (he has since deleted this fact from his bio), debuted on CNN Monday. The author section of his NYT column also notes that he served as “special assistant to the bureau’s director.”
It remains unclear why Campbell has decided to remove this information from his account, but Comey did share his Times column on Twitter Friday and said Campbell’s “voice is an important addition to the national conversation.” The hat tip signals a relationship between the two men and possible knowledge of Campbell’s new role as a cable news pundit.
The quick transition from FBI agent to on-air contributor raises questions about Campbell’s relationship with the network. The cable news network has relied on anonymous sources within the federal law enforcement agency during the Trump administration.

This is starting to sound like a BOHICA moment the latest round being all the PHONY ‘righteous indignation’ shown by the Republican Reps over a report that would make people weep and it is so embarrassing I don’t think we should let the mere mortals see it
They ‘teased’ us with that and strung it out long enough so it got a ‘ho hum’ and turned out to be another ‘routine’ type memo.
Instead of PDT ‘tweeting’ something about the ingrates it would be nice if he were to at least make a statement along the lines of ‘I am sorry for the 2 trill increase, it takes more to run this than I even dreamed ESPECIALLY when it is all porked up with various unnecessary spending. We will definitely be working towards getting this under complete control, starting with a complete overhaul of the ‘food stamp’ program and all the money going to the ‘illegals’.

President Trump has already started. There is an overhaul of food stamps going on, and the Trump administration is also targeting illegals getting social services. I have seen news articles about both- in fact pretty sure articles have been posted here at FR about both of those things in the works.
The entire history of the FBI is about abuse of power and abuse of the Constitution.
