Interesting - wife and I both have birthdays within the last week of the month and get ours the fourth Wednesday - when we started I understood they paid only two days a month - maybe the rules have changed - sounds more equitable if they have.....

This is something which is quite common. if you are paid on the 15th and 30th of every month, you get 24 payments a year.

If you are paid every other week, you get 26 payments. That sounds good, until you realize the bosses are not all that dumb: each of those checks will be slightly smaller, but you will get paid three times in one month twice a year.

As to those who get their SS checks earlier in the month... You still have to wait a little longer four times a year.

So, if you are paid on the 9th of March every month, then this year, there will be 5 weeks until your payment in April, because there is an extra Friday in March.

No one is getting ripped off. It’s the nature of our calendar. The yearly total is the same either way; it’s just the amount of the payments which changes.
