While this brave young man did an incredible thing, he doesn’t rate a military funeral. He was a JROTC Cadet not a member of the armed forces, or a veteran. His JROTC unit can give him the honors. Some here will call me cold hearted for my stance, but it is what it is.
I believe his actions to be a direct result of his training. His decision to place himself between evil and innocents is in the finest traditions of the American Military. I SEE NO WATERING DOWN OF THOSE TRADITIONS IN THIS HONOR.
