4. But, let a porn star who had her picture taken with Trump and uses it to full advantage, and the pearl clutching by prancing moral deviants suddenly turned moral purists is amazing.

I’ve explained this process.
The Omnibus, even though called an “APPROPRIATION” bill, was really an “AUTHORIZATION” bill. No $$ has been appropriated yet.
The process is that the House first, then the Senate authorize money (permission to spend). Then they appropriate the money, usually a little at a time, to the Departments (never to the President).
Mattis will get the defense $, a little at a time. For ex, if he says the USAF needs 3 more F-22s and Congress appropriates (I dunno what they cost, say $200m for the three), and the USAF Sec spends the money on new bombers, then Congress won’t appropriate more til this is fixed and money comes from the bomber budget to replace.
If, somehow, Trump instructs Mattis to build a wall with the F-22 $$, Congress won’t appropriate any more money, period.
There is a reason the Founders did this. They wanted CONGRESS, whatever you think of them now, to have total control over the purse. There was NEVER an intention to allow presidents to just have their own slush funds.
As a side note, I’m hearing from military people right and left that the military was in FAR worse shape than we thought and that every penny is needed.

Even as a world renowned businessman, there are only so many qualified people for these positions you even know, let alone who can be successfully vetted, and then who will take the job.
Just FYI and not bragging, but Steve Bannon asked me if I wanted to head Library of Congress. I said “Hell no.” I’m not an administrator, and I hate Washington. And that’s a nuthin’ job. So you can imagine how very qualified people would be hard to find.
I am NOT comparing Trump to “nazis” but think back ot 1946. There was a ban on Nazis holding any power in Germany-—yet Patton found he couldn’t even run the water and electricity plants with non-nazis cuz either they had been killed or left 7-10 years earlier.
So, think of the nazis as the Swamp. Unable to find all the “loyal” but smart Trumpers, he had to turn to recommendations from inside the Swamp and that was first and foremost Priebus. But McMaster came with recommendations from everyone: I recommended him, Victor Hanson recommended him, and, according to Bannon, “so did 50 other top conservatives.”
Bottom line, it has taken a while to get rid of insiders and slowly find Trumpers willing and able to do the job.

There are different ways to view this. The tweets may be Trump’s humorous trolling. Or there may be strategies to force Congress into a stand-alone vote on The Wall. And there are other possibilities.
He’s trolling, and I honestly think he knows how badly he screwed up. You could see it in the press conference. The worst he’s ever been.

He will force the Dems to run against themselves, i.e. their own record because he knows that by no stretch of the imagination will all the DACA people automatically vote for Democrats, and so do they. He will also use discretionary authority to improve border security including the use of “the M” - e.g. the military. Army Corps of Engineers, for example, to design it. If in the end some Dems challenge him in court, well we’ll take our chances after it gets to Scotus.

I’m not sure, but I do know the writer is an a-hole. There are reasoned and grave objections to the budget disaster. To call those “tantrums” is both inaccurate and unjust.
