This is what happened in New Zeeland when the government suddenly cut farm subsidies.

“The Trump administration seems to be leaning towards allying with the oil refining industry in its fight against Big Corn and federal rules requiring the use of corn ethanol.”

It isn’t JUST Trump standing there on the precipice with his sword raised high against ethanol in our fuel sucker. Virtually everyone that voted for him stand with him on that one. Damn the ethanol, and damn the commie-pinko leftist asshats pushing their environmental bullshit that’s the basis of it all.

There’s no law mandating corn ethanol. If using cane and sorghum made it cheaper, are you rich from investing in them?

My cousin, a farmer, says gas that sits in a tractor for a while will not start the tractor without ether and when it does start it does not run right. These people that wrote the article are also the ones that pushed “peak oil” also.

Good, ethanol is a net negative energy process. Only someone in government would think it’s a good idea to spend 1.2 gallons of diesel to make 1.0 gallons of ethanol. Not to mention hundreds of gallons of water.

I have argued this for years. I used to work with an energy company that had an ethanol division. The head of the group could not explain how this was a net add to energy

Manufacturing of ethanol and its usage in fuel made/makes us more dependent on what some call fossil fuels. I have seen that the figure is 1.6 gallons of ethanol to make one gallon of fuel.

STOP BURNING FOOD!

Farmers can find something else to do with corn.

How 'bout we feed it to animals we eat?

Agreed. The ethanol program was bullshit from the start. Its a net negative from a energy input vs output standpoint. But the problem is that once you get a constituency that is dependent upon it its damn hard to get rid of it. I’m with Trump on this one. Kill the damn thing and let the cards fall where they may. The landed gentry will get by.

The cost of ANYTHING that has corn, in any form in it,has skyrocketed since farmers are selling corn for the production of ethanol. Including meat and poultry that are fed corn. I’m not a mechanically inclined person, but my husband tells me that ethanol burns hotter, and causes more damage to cars, thereby.
