The wedding of Her Royal Highness The Princess Margaret Rose Windsor and Mr Antony Armstrong-Jones.
May 1960.
We fought two wars to get get rid of the monarchy. Stop idolizing these people.
Very interesting. Thank you.
The crowd was so properly dressed.
I wish today’s wedding dresses were long sleeved. I think it allows for more variety in the design.
Just as Charles got the stupid part of the Windsor genome, Margaret got the free-spirit part.
Yet another rebellious comment from a colonial. And people wonder why Free Republic has never obtained a prestigious royal warrant.

This marriage ceremony looks nice, but was a nightmare in reality. Adultery, drugs, alcoholism. They are both gone now. May God have mercy on them.
A great deal of our American culture comes from Britain; people are interested in the culture and history. People are also naturally interested in the ‘rich and famous’. That’s not idolizing, it’s human nature.
Well, in honor of Princess Margaret's memory, I will pop the cork on a bottle of bubbly, and maybe two or three more, and maybe a bottle of Jim Beam, a few beers, oh, a few shots of Bacardi, that bottle of Beaujolais Nouveau that's been sitting under the sink since last November, a bit of Korger Chardonay from a refrigerator box—what the hell the whole box—and top it all off with a can or two of Sterno. Here's to you, Maggie!
“Here’s to you, Maggie!”
LOL!
You forgot to mention the hot and not so hot sexscapades. :P But alas as you said. It was tragic.
We are getting some of our back, never fear. Soon the Brits will have to bow and curtsey to an ordinary American, HRH Meghan, Duchess of Sussex (I was hoping for Duchess of Windsor just for laughs).
True, true. She was one of the most beautiful royals.
