Why Trump’s Sunday Tweets Were Important

Why Trump’s Sunday Tweets Were Important May 28, 2018 by David Blackmon Today’s Campaign Update (Because The Campaign Never Ends) Today is Memorial Day and please, before you read this, take a minute to reflect on the men and women who have served and sacrificed to protect this great nation. It’s the very least the rest of us can do. Thanks.

Having grown up in the ’70s, this headline seems counter-intuitive, to say the least. – Headline seen this morning at BostonGlobe.com: “Forget protein shakes. The newest workout supplement? Marijuana.”

In other news, water is wet. – Lebron James is in the NBA finals again. Ho-hum. This will be Lebron’s 8th straight NBA finals, and his team – the first four were with the Miami Heat, the last 3 with his current Cleveland Cavaliers team – has won 3 of the previous 7. He’s about to be disappointed again, because the Houston Rockets are this year’s team of destiny in the NBA.

Looks like Michael Moore is gonna have to change his diet for awhile. – Some website called the Organic Prepper (I swear I don’t make this stuff up – that really is a thing.) is reporting this morning that Hormel has had to recall more than 228,000 pounds of Spam over fears it could contain metal fragments. Of course, if it did contain metal fragments, those would be the most nutritious part of the product, something the folks at Organic Prepper neglect to note.

Trump tweets, we should listen. – A couple of presidential tweets are worth mentioning this morning, because, as is so often the case, there is more behind them than necessarily meets the eye.

First, there was this:

Donald J. Trump ✔ @realDonaldTrump Our United States team has arrived in North Korea to make arrangements for the Summit between Kim Jong Un and myself. I truly believe North Korea has brilliant potential and will be a great economic and financial Nation one day. Kim Jong Un agrees with me on this. It will happen!

3:09 PM - May 27, 2018

Think of where we were just four days ago, with liberals all over the country cheering the Crazy Little Fat Guy’s “victory” over Trump after the President had issued the letter “cancelling” the June 12 summit scheduled to be held in Singapore. That was just four days ago. Those of us who have taken the time to understand Trump knew that the letter was just a negotiating ploy designed to frighten Kim Jong Un back into a more conciliatory mode of behavior.

Look what’s happened since that letter was issued: Kim issues a very apologetic statement practically begging Trump not to cancel the summit, Kim holds a hastily-arranged meeting with South Korean Moon Jae-in on Saturday to discuss ways to revive the summit meeting, and the U.S. advance team arrives in Singapore to make preparations for the summit the very next day. This is the art of the deal in action, and the absurd part of it is that there is not a liberal in America who is willing or even capable of learning from this episode.

It’s important to note that none of this necessarily means the summit will actually be held on June 12. We could see the thing “blow up” once or twice more before that date, as Trump and Kim jockey for position, and liberal emotions will ebb and flow with those tides. Meanwhile, those who understand the Trump method will understand that ultimately, there will be a meeting, and a deal will be made.

Because, as Trump says in his book, “the best deals you can make are the ones you walk away from…and then get them with better terms.” This is not rocket science.

The second Sunday Trump tweet worth noting is this one:

Donald J. Trump ✔ @realDonaldTrump Why didn’t President Obama do something about the so-called Russian Meddling when he was told about it by the FBI before the Election? Because he thought Crooked Hillary was going to win, and he didn’t want to upset the apple cart! He was in charge, not me, and did nothing.

3:32 PM - May 27, 2018

Several things to unpack here:

- The use of the term “so-called Russian Meddling”;

- The specific mention of ex-President Obama;

- The specific mention that Obama was “told about it by the FBI”;

- The note that “he” – Obama – “thought Crooked Hillary was going to win”.

The reference to “so-called Russian Meddling” and specific mention of Obama is an attempt to prepare the public to learn what Trump has most likely known since shortly after the 2016 election: That the Obama Administration had mounted a spying operation against his campaign on Obama’s personal order, and that the only “collusion” with anyone from Russia was mounted by Obama officials at the FBI and CIA, and the Clinton campaign. The only people trying to rig the 2016 election were American Democrats.

The mention that Obama was “told about it by the FBI” refers to the wealth of evidence now in the public domain that Obama was kept aware of the FBI’s anti-Trump operation every step of the way. And, of course, the note that Obama thought the Pantsuit Prince would win the election refers to the reality that all of this would have been swept under the rug had the election-rigging worked as planned.

Obama was in charge, as Trump notes, and did nothing for two reasons: 1) there was no “Russian Meddling” in the election serious enough to make any difference at all in the outcome, something Obama himself repeatedly said during the campaign, and 2) he was confident that nothing needed to be done because the Fainting Felon was bound to win. Once that happened, all of the spying, all of the illegal unmaskings, all of the FISA abuse, all of crimes committed during the Obama era would be safely swept under the rug and for all intents and purposes cease to exist, and the transforming of America into an outright fascist state based on the model we see being implemented today in England and Germany could proceed apace.

But Hillary lost.

Just another day in a funny thing happened on the way to Hillary’s coronation America.

That is all.

I remain cautiously optimistic. Still wondering what Kim’s real endgame is.

Excellent breakdown.

But I hope it doesn’t help the enemy — foreign and domestic — to better understand our great president’s strategic style.

As usual, a good article. While bit about Spam was funny it wasn’t true. Spam’s considered it’s own food group in Hawaii, and I remember it fondly from my Scout years.

Kim’s end game is whatever Xi tells him it needs to be. You can be certain that it isn’t nuclear war with the United States.

Remember this about leftists- they’re cunning and ruthless, but not all that bright. Facing a determined leader, they lose every time.

true. But Xi is a no dummy and would prefer that the US was out of the region completely.

“...Remember this about leftists- they’re cunning and ruthless, but not all that bright. Facing a determined leader, they lose every time.....”

Leftists suffer from a chronic, no-cure mental disease that rots out the brain to the point that they can no longer determine reality from fantasy. What’s up, is down, what’s wrong, is right, blue is green, etc. etc. etc. They destroy everything they touch....EVERYTHING.
The sooner the PEOPLE realize this, the sooner the problem can be addressed. They don’t belong anywhere near the levers of govt. as they will eventually get us all killed if left to their own doings. Most of em need to be in a padded cell just to keep them from hurting themselves.

Still wondering what Kim’s real endgame is.

*************

Embarrass the president at the meeting and then use this incident to claim that, if a punitive attack is carried out against NK, Trump is doing it out of spite and revenge. They want to somehow put Trump in an untenable position. Their first attempt to start a row (refusing to show up for preliminary talks) failed.

Either that, or they will stall for the rest of the time Trump is in office. Wait for Americans to elect another weak president, which is a very strong probability.

I’ve worked with many lefties over the years and one common thread among them that stands out is their intellectual and moral arrogance. This combination often breeds overconfidence, which can lead to errors of judgement and miscalculation.

They don’t believe they can ever be wrong. That is their Achilles heel.

His endgame is capitulation, either wrapped up in niceties with him alive, or some other way.

There are also quite a few, rapidly diminishing, Russian Army veterans from WW II who also remember it fondly because we provided them with so much. And, since those old guys took so much German pressure off us, regardless of how evil Stalin was, they, too, deserve a word of thanks.

Trump, speaking to Don McGhan (legal counsel): "Kim's a pimp. He never could've out-fought Pompeo. But I didn't know until this day that it was Xi all along."

(OK, Trump knew it all along anyway, just wanted to steal the quote)

Spam and Studebaker trucks kept the Russians going.
I remember reading, as a youth, stories about the shipments to Russia.
