In the California central valley, much of America's breadbasket has been reduced to a dustbowl by destructive leftist politics which shut off water to farmers. Is the historic Delta Region next just so Jerry Brown can have his pathetic legacy?
Last weekend as my husband and I were enjoying vin rouge and fromage at one of our favorite Delta wineries in Clarksburg, CA, we discussed Gov. Jerry Browns proposed Delta Tunnels project, and how it would destroy the historical, rich agricultural region. Some of our favorite wineries, and all of the Delta agriculture could end up under water and/or the land rendered useless if Gov. Jerry Browns unnecessary Delta Tunnels project is actually built.
The tunnels project proponents claim it is needed to deliver significantly more, better quality water to Southern California cities and Central Valley farms, and deliver water more reliablyat an original cost estimate of more than $26 billion. When it became evident that the excessive cost was a bad deal for ratepayers as well as the Delta, Gov. Jerry Brown and his appointed water cronies scaled back the project to a single tunnel and a $15 billion price tag in an effort to keep his legacy project alive. However, a single-tunnel would deliver only two-thirds of the water the twin-tunnel project promised.
Guess they never heard of desalinization.
Based on the new laws being proposed, I think the money would be better spent on desalinization plants.
Crap! You beat me to it.
Comrade Jerry “Jose” Brown spending REAL Californians into further debt. Billions upon billions more -— on top of the Train to Nowhere.
As more illegals stream into Northern Mexico (Southern Calif), Moonbeam and his ilk must take MORE WATER from the drought-striken north part of the state to keep them watered. The RATS refuse to build more water storage capability because the “enviro-whackos”, that contribute heavily to the RAT Party, do not want to see more water storage.
More Moonbeam insanity and DESTRUCTION OF CALIFORNIA.
The sooner the better. Some kommiefornians are awakening to their predicament and as soon as that sewer of a state becomes a Blade Runner scenario, somebody might actually object. Of course, by then their guns will be gone, but they'll all have marijuana, cocaine and opiates. That's what FR's libertarians want, anyway.
They’d be taking water from the PACIFIC? That, plus increased water usage until the level of the Pacific dropped to the point people in Hawaii could DRIVE from one island to another. And what about the sea birds who wouldn’t have the waters to land on in order to rest?
I’m sure the Sierra Club will protest this.
And one will not be able to surf and ski in the same day!
Nutcase “Governor Moonbeam” aka Jerry Brown is the Nicklaus Kruz of California. Power, and the Democrat Party are his guns. Everybody is running to get out of California as “Governor Moonbeam’s” legacy flows over the State like lava from a volcano.
CA is all about throwing money out the window.
Here in San Diego, we have the USA's largest desalination plant, producing 50 million gallons per day. We are trying to build another one at Camp Pendleton that produces 100-150 million gallons per day. Desalination is cheaper than importing water. Unfortunately, we have enviro-wacko kooks like "the Surfrider Foundation" and "San Diego Coastkeeper" that perpetually tie these projects up in court and drive the costs much higher than they should be.

I love how supposed (C), in pushing their favorite UNCONSTITUTIONAL pet-projects (IE: Unless it’s coming over the border, Fedzilla’s got NOTHING for authority re: ‘drug war’/FDA/etc.), or their love of flipping Federalism on its head (States have EVERY right to pass these relaxation of regs/laws), while blaming the (L) (exactly HOW many (L) hold office??) for their own party’s ineptitude.
Instead, why don’t you worry about your party members of Ryan & Gowdy, sucking up to the Deep State, and the rest of ‘em for NOT jumping on CA’s @SS re: illegals, anti-2nd, 9th Circuit and a plethora of other Rights\Freedom stomping State actions?
You really are one of those.
