Today’s Campaign Update (Because The Campaign Never Ends)
“Ok, let’s see here guys, we’ve already destroyed the attorney/client privilege in the Cohen case, we’re doing our best to destroy the rules of evidence in the Concorde case, what should we destroy next?” – The obvious answer that came back from one of his evil minions to Special Counsel Robert Mueller was “Hey, let’s kill the bail system!” because that’s what he’s now doing in the case against Paul Manafort.
Let’s first note that Manafort, who served as the Trump Campaign Manager for all of 49 days, is not charged with anything even remotely related to what Mueller is supposed to be investigating. The charges against him are for alleged crimes that took place long before Donald Trump even decided to run for office, things like bank fraud, tax evasion and failing to register as an agent of a foreign government when he lobbied for the Ukraine years ago.
By the way, that “failure to register as an agent of a foreign government” charge could be applied to probably half the lobby firms on K Street in Washington today, which includes many, many former members of congress who don’t want their efforts on behalf of the world’s unsavory regimes made a matter of public information. So, if Manafort goes to prison for that charge, perhaps we need a special counsel appointed to just do a general roundup of people based on it. That would be fun.
That said, all of these are crimes and if he is guilty of them, Manafort should pay his price to society. They just should have been pursued by someone other than a Special Counsel supposedly investigating allegations of “Russia Collusion,” which is of course a fantasy.
But back to the question of bail: Manafort had to this point been free on bail awaiting trials that frankly may never come, given the clownish behavior of Mueller and his team. But on Friday, based on a 1 minute phone call he had with a person who may or may not be a witness in a trial that may never occur, Mueller convinced the Obama appointee judge (of course) in the case to revoke Mueller’s bail and toss him in the pokey.
I don’t really have any use for Paul Manafort, but I do value our constitutional rights. Mueller’s ongoing assault on those rights, supported in this case by an Obama judge who has likely never bothered to read the Constitution, is of deep concern to all of us. The precedents being set by the tactics this gang of thugs is getting away with would make Stalin proud.
There is no limit to the utter depravity of the American left. – Way back in December of 2016, as the Trump transition team was making plans for the new administration, I told you about illegal immigrant detention centers that the Obama Administration had managed in Texas and Arizona border towns for years. I noted that liberals and the fake news media had remained studiously silent about these centers while a Democrat was in the White House, but would inevitably start referring to them as “concentration camps” once a Republican was in the office.
Well, it has taken longer than I had assumed it would, probably because every leftist lunatic in the country has been so mindlessly consumed with their Russia Collusion fantasy play, but they’ve finally gone there. Yesterday morning, the execrable Joe Scarborough led the pack of rabid ferrets that MSNBC calls “journalists” down that path on his “Morning Joe” program, while an entire panel of fake MSNBC analysts resorted to the same absurd characterization later in the day on something called “MSNBC Live with Stephanie Ruhle.”
These comments are an absolute disgrace. They are completely, absolutely false, they are based on abject ignorance and mindless hatred of President Trump, they demean our Homeland Security and Border Patrol personnel and Health and Human Services personnel (who actually manage the facilities) alike, and they indeed characterize our entire society as just another Nazi Germany.
The truth about these facilities is that they are very well appointed with comfortable furniture, video games, pool tables, modern bathrooms, clean beds and plenty of food. They are there to hold illegal adults who have committed a crime against our country temporarily while awaiting their immigration hearings. Their children are held in similarly-appointed, separate facilities while they are separated from their parents.
U.S. citizens who are arrested for committing crimes against our country are also separated from their children. Those children who don’t have other relatives willing to take custody of them go into similar facilities initially while authorities figure out what to do with them.
No one is ever happy when children are separated from their parents, but this is what happens when parents commit crimes and are arrested for them. When a Democrat is President, the fake news media says nothing about any of this, because this is just the normal course of business in pretty much every civilized nation. But when a Republican is in the White House, why, America is suddenly Nazi Germany all over again.
It’s detestable, demented and depraved. Anyone spreading this outrageous lie should be shunned from society. A pox on all their houses.

Chronicling the performance art madness is amusing as far as it goes but it’s like pruning the leaves on a noxious weed without killing the roots.
The unbundling of cable & satellite service must be made a priority.
1) Bundling is an absolute ripoff especially when the number of unwatched channels, especially dozens of infomercial channels, are factored in.
2) It is an anachronism from the days of analog transmission and when access to channels/tiers was engineered at the point of delivery (junction box). Providers have relied on ‘that’s the way it’s always been’ style public apathy - and on tacit approval from legislators and public officials on the take.
3) It is the financial lifeblood of little-watched but much-discussed propaganda channels. They don’t even qualify as news. If CNN and MSNBC had to sell their offerings on an a la carte subscription basis they couldn’t afford to keep the lights on for a month, let alone pay their ‘talent.’
