Great location, equidistant to Plano, downtown Dallas, Arlington. Good schools, well policed by Irving and Coppell Police.
We'll have no trouble selling the house in a few years if we so desire. I confidently predict a multigenerational Indian family will be the next owner...lol. I'm one of the few white guys left in the neighborhood.
Not complaining...my three kids I suppose are classified as "white Hispanics".
We also love the Ft Worth area....near the University.
Maybe our tornado left our ranch and went up your way 😱😬
Texas property taxes are extremely higher that I’m used to. 3-4% of appraised value, vs the house we own in CA which is taxed at 1.2% of what we bought it for. True, no income tax which is great. At some point I think they’ll have to change from appraised to what you bought it for. Old folks will get taxed out of their property. We are staying in TX regardless, I just couldn’t take the politics in CA any more........who is John Galt?
I live inside the Loop in the 77025 zip code.
Every house around me that is sold gets torn down and replaced by a huge mansion, and when I say huge, they are over 5000 SF on a lot 60 feet wide. They have over 3 times the SF my 1950s-era house has. One neighbor has an actual movie theater in his house. WTF?
The only way we could afford the area was to buy a teardown and not tear it down. Our house was only 10% of the total price. The land was 90%.
Houston has too many newcomers, both Mexican and northerner. I don’t like it.
