This is Time frickin Time magazine. Zero insight to Trump.
How often was Neil Gorsuch’s name floated around before his pick? If memory serves, all the media kept saying it was between Gorsuch and Thomas Hardiman, and that ended up being right.
“...said a person familiar with Trumps thinking who was not authorized to speak publicly.”
Did Trump authorize this leak or is someone speaking out of turn? I wish I knew.
Not just Time. These three are fairly well confirmed to be the finalists by multiple media in contact with various sources. However, it could change if something comes up about one or more at last minute...or if POTUS gets fed up with the bitter backstabbing going on behind the scenes.
My guess is that at least one of them is largely only there to act as a lightning rod to draw all the leftist nutters to overstep and deflect criticism from the real nominee.
Likewise, I think at least one of the others is actually in contention, maybe even the favorite, and is being floated to get a sense of conservative reaction.
Unnamed sources
Trump will announce then we will know
It doesn’t matter if we think the choice is a good one. Trump posted that list when he ran. If you didn’t like it ......
Also note Pruitt resigned today because of all the harassment. This is getting really ugly. Conservatives shouldn’t add to it
The real action is going on behind the scenes. Truthfully, he should have made his selection interviews right after Kennedy retired on the 27th of June. Making his choice, then, notifying the select group of senators, then the judge has to undergo days of practice runs with hostile panels, to help insure they won’t break under stress.
The busiest person will be Mitch McConnell, who is going to have to make sure the vote in the entire senate is a winner. This means arm twisting several Democrat senators to vote in his favor.
“said a person” = more damn rumors being published by the leftist fake stream as if rumors are “news” ...
Time Magazine - By Catherine Lucey, Ken Thomas and Lisa Mascaro, The Associated Press
If that’s the source then I agree. None of those three are likely to be chosen.
Holiday week. So, they could only find three authors.....
The push by the NeverTrumper set for Barrett has me at full alert.
More I look into her, less comfortable I am. I simply don’t see how going to law school, being a professor, and being a judge leaves time to be a proper mother to seven children - especially with two adoptees and a “special needs” child in the mix. Just handling a special needs child alone can be a full time job in and of itself.
Had she raised her kids then gone onto a law career, that would be perfectly fine. But the ethic of putting one’s career ahead of one’s kids is totally and completely unacceptable. This nation does not survive if that ethic prevails.
And now I see a whole lot of really dishonest people pushing her very hard and my every instinct is screaming that this is wrong, wrong, wrong.
exactly.
What will happen Monday night?
After Trump announces his nominee, it’s likely he’ll sing the nominee’s praises to the prime-time multitudes watching in true Trumpian style: ‘’This is the greatest nominee ever!...People, we are making the Supreme Court Great Again! (MASCAGA!)’’...and so on.
Trump will want to energize his base. It’s an election year.
Somehow, neither Mr. Kavanaugh nor Mr. Kethledge, as dull white males, seems to have the personality or background to fill the pivotal role of an electrifying presence worthy of Donald Trump’s expected accolades. I can hear America yawning.
On the other hand, Mrs. Barrett IS so exciting that she’s spent the last week having the kitchen sink thrown at her, precisely because she represents Conservative hopes of having an unabashed pro-life Justice on the Supreme Court capable of playing a large role in delivering Roe vs. Wade into the ash heap of history.
