Beto ORourke is running to replace Ted Cruz. Literally. Sweat pours off his lean, 6 4-frame as the El Paso Democrat jogs along the southern bank of the Trinity River surrounded by 300-odd supporters and curious voters jogging along with him. Incredibly, they have shown up at 8 a.m. on a Sunday to join him for a double shot of politics and cardio. In between panting breaths, ORourke explains to me the origins of this novel campaign event, which has him running several miles under the Texas sun, stopping in the middle to take questions and lingering at the end to pose for selfies. Some sadistic member of our team, he recalls, was like, So were doing like six town halls a day in six different counties. Were driving hundreds of miles every day, were visiting all 254 counties. What more could we do? Ah, get up earlier and have running town halls.

I do not know the law. Thought if one parent is a citizen of USA, your children can be a natural born citizen no matter what country you happened to have arrived.
Ted Cruz is more American than most of us born here, IMHO. I see this with many foreign born citizens who are thrilled to be here vs. where they come from. They know the Constitution better than we do, history of America better than we do and have more pride than many. I have learned from them- both about history and Christianity!
Having been to see/meet Cruz in person, I can tell you I am far more impressed with him and his decisions than I can that of Cornyn. Cornyn has drank too much of the swamp water and does what he does for career purposes.
Yea let’s get a another dem into the senate!!!
Smart thinking!
One is only naturally a citizen when there is no alternative, born here of citizen parents.
The natural born citizen requirement was put in to exclude those born with divided loyalties, allegiances and citizenship.

I live in Houston and it’s rare that I hear anything about Beto. He didn’t do all that great in the primaries.. yeah, he won, but with half the votes Cruz had...
O’Rourke seems to think his F rating from the NRA and his support for a new “assault weapons ban” is actually a selling point. In Texas.
Of course, this is the same party that thought Wendy Davis would be a viable gubernatorial candidate, so there you are.
Please, no more Bushes.
I voted for Cruz in the Texas Primary as the best choice. I was willing to defer to various court opinions which declared him eligible to run for president as a NBC. Call me a “Cruzer” if you want to, but he would have made an unapologetically conservative, excellent president.
Who the heck writes this kind of swill? A frustrated romance novelist?!
I dont live in Texas so I dont know what kind of crowds Yed draws
This is the same kind of stuff Politico was publishing when Michelle Nunn was running against David Perdue.
Do you live in Texas
If you aint from Texas you probably dont know
So a liberal going for a jog in Austin Texas is now a news story?.
Yes, he would have.
And "Cruzer" is not an insult.
Cruz has been a pretty reliable supporter of Trump in the Senate once he got over his butt-hurt from losing the nomination, AND Cruz has WAY more conservative tendencies than the average GOP Senator ...
Thanks for the input from an actual Texan
“Sweat pours off his lean, 6 4-frame as the El Paso Democrat jogs along the southern bank of the Trinity River”
does he wear the traditional Dem pink sneakers?
That post is an embarrassment
What state do you live in?
Last I checked, being a natural born citizen wasn't a per-requisite for being a senator. So, what's your point? Sure looks like you are promoting support for the socialist running in the race.
