This mess is starting to get to me too. Praying that God will do something about it soon. A lot of liberal, leftist folks are trying to start a bloody conflict and don’t even realize it, it appears.

I felt weird about the Russia affair. Putin might be right this time and he’d still be a snake.

While we enjoy vast differences, I appreciate your viewpoint, but you’ve obviously gotten yourself pulled into the falsehood of the media. There’s a real world out there with real, godly people living out their lives in accordance to God’s will. The crazies and the reprobates who inhabit the news are Satan’s agents.

Taking a break isn’t bad, but despair is never godly. Christ doesn’t save countries; he saves individuals. God is in control, and He shall never be thwarted. Look to the future with hope for it is certain.

Yes, there won’t ever be a country on this side that’s all Christian. The attempt to do it has raised more rancor than succor. Plus it raises the knotty question of what to do with the benevolence commands of Christendom.

Yet Jesus is God and became a man. I suppose citing Maimonides you are of a Jewish belief.

No one knows any of this for sure. The extremely difficult thing to understand is God beyond our limited minds’ ability to understand Him.
Maimonides was merely a philosopher who tried to interpret the nature of God as far beyond the “anthropomorphism” of being a man with a beard sitting on a throne. He made a lot of people mad at him. I admit it bothers me, too. I can’t think of God except in human terms. I shouldn’t have quoted him-—people are still angry at him and he’s been dead for hundreds of years.

I am a Jew and a Trump supporter. Please don’t hate me.

I know the understanding of Christ as God come to Earth is the basis of Christianity and I fully respect that as part of the Christian faith. Yes, all the Bible has hundreds of references to the human sounding attributes of God and if we are in His Image then that is human.

Please consider my attempt to place God higher and farther and grander than any human form except when Jesus came here. Jesus prayed to Him, when Jesus was sent here on His mission for our sakes. If I am mistaken about Christianity in saying this, forgive me.

I may be wrong but I am trying to get my mind around God’s grandeur being beyond what I can understand. In my form of Judaism we try to follow God’s laws and when we fall short and sin we must work for genuine sincere repentance as David when God was angry with him for his sin with Bath-Sheba for example. God allowed the baby to live a short time from the union with Bath-Sheba and this may have been part of his punishment but David sought forgiveness as shown in many Psalms as well.

Let us accept each other as praying to the same God and accept each other’s sister religions. Please.

I don’t believe that the ‘world’ is an illusion; though the way we perceive it, through our convictions and beliefs, can make it illusory in effect.

The material world is just as real as anything could be, infused with God and in union with Him; there are just gradations of closeness to and attunement with ultimate ‘reality’; and individual consciousness determines those.

We humans on Earth might be able to imagine living beyond these restrictive dimensions to some small extent; but for most of us, our current consciousness can never encompass the idea of living entirely beyond them, and we are on the lower rungs of the ladder.

Some of us, through history, seem to have seen further horizons; and to me, that inspires an absolute Wonder as to how much we have to look forward to!

I respect non Christian Jewish believers even though quite profoundly disagreeing. To them, God is something akin to an impersonal force, except one with law giving power. That often works in times of plenty. It helps less in times of suffering.

"It’s full of pretenders yes"

No, it is pretend, only you don't know you're pretending it.

That's why it can seem like a bad dream. It's not that it's not real, it's that everything you believe about it is not real.

Even if you can't see it, what I'm trying to tell you is it's not necessary or productive for you to suffer over what you're suffering over. THIS is not the thing to suffer over. If there is anything to suffer over, there is only ONE thing, and it only need be done ONCE, and that is the suffering that follows the letting go of the World, which is actually only the dying of the fake self and with it the fake world. During that ... it's possible to suffer. That's good suffering! At least it has a point!

The suffering you are going through now is cyclic because of it's cause, it will come and go for the rest of your life because you don't see the root of it.

The root of it is that you believe your version of The World to be true. Very Prideful! Most suffering actually comes from pride. It's not just 'bad people' who are sinners and suffer from it. But we all believe we know where we are prideful. We don't. YOU believe your version of reality. VERY VERY PRIDEFUL! And look - you're tired and dejected. Coincidence?

Pride doesn't mean you run around complimenting yourself. It means, at the level of assumption, unquestioned, you believe YOUR version. Very dangerous for a human to do this. VERY close to the original sin, though not exactly it.

Yes I am a Reform Jew and Trump supporter so please don’t hate me. Please see other post below this.

I don’t follow Maimonides, and many people still have a grudge against him especially in Israel. I just try to get my mind around God as higher and farther beyond what I can understand.
God as Jesus here on His mission in human form for our sakes is a fundamental aspect of Christianity and I fully respect that from my Christian friends and their faith. His human emotions indeed show God’s human attributes despite Maimonides. I know God has lots of reasons to be angry and I pray He forgives me for my sins.

Let us please respect each other and our sister religions as we pray to the same God.

When God has had enough, he orders action taken or makes it happen:

Numbers 31:1 Then the Lord spoke to Moses, saying,
Numbers 31:2 "Take full vengeance for the sons of Israel on the Midianites; afterward you will be gathered to your people."
Numbers 31:3 And Moses spoke to the people, saying, "Arm men from among you for the war, that they may go against Midian, to execute the Lord's vengeance on Midian.
Numbers 31:4 "A thousand from each tribe of all the tribes of Israel you shall send to the war."
Numbers 31:5 So there were furnished from the thousands of Israel, a thousand from each tribe, twelve thousand armed for war.
Numbers 31:6 And Moses sent them, a thousand from each tribe, to the war, and Phinehas the son of Eleazar the priest, to the war with them, and the holy vessels and the trumpets for the alarm in his hand.
Numbers 31:7 So they made war against Midian, just as the Lord had commanded Moses, and they killed every male. Numbers 31:8 And they killed the kings of Midian along with the rest of their slain: Evi and Rekem and Zur and Hur and Reba, the five kings of Midian; they also killed Balaam the son of Beor with the sword.
Numbers 31:9 And the sons of Israel captured the women of Midian and their little ones; and all their cattle and all their flocks and all their goods, they plundered.
Numbers 31:10 Then they burned all their cities where they lived and all their camps with fire.
Numbers 31:11 And they took all the spoil and all the prey, both of man and of beast.
Numbers 31:12 And they brought the captives and the prey and the spoil to Moses, and to Eleazar the priest and to the congregation of the sons of Israel, to the camp at the plains of Moab, which are by the Jordan opposite Jericho.
Numbers 31:13 And Moses and Eleazar the priest and all the leaders of the congregation went out to meet them outside the camp.
Numbers 31:14 And Moses was angry with the officers of the army, the captains of thousands and the captains of hundreds, who had come from service in the war.
Numbers 31:15 And Moses said to them, "Have you spared all the women?
Numbers 31:16 "Behold, these caused the sons of Israel, through the counsel of Balaam, to trespass against the Lord in the matter of Peor, so the plague was among the congregation of the Lord.
Numbers 31:17 "Now therefore, kill every male among the little ones, and kill every woman who has known man intimately.
NUM 31:18 "But all the girls who have not known man intimately, spare for yourselves.

Interesting battle plan that was enacted, by the way. More than likely the women who had known men sexually may have been carrying venereal diseases which would be a hazard even as house help. Regardless, Moses enacted this and God did not condemn him. No further comment.

And forgiveness can only truly be bestowed by a heart moved with compassion, not just with offense.

Jesus is regarded in orthodox Christian theology as the result of a self emptying of God. God “the Son” is more than the earthly Jesus. The Son had to set aside His crown when He manifested in spacetime as Jesus. And this is how we can see humility itself mirrored in God. We can be humble because we grasp the hand of a God whonHimself became humble.

Don’t ever apologize for your faith.

Without the profound basis of Jewish religion and philosophy, the Western world would never have progressed beyond polytheism and into the understanding of the Unity of all Creation, and of the One God.

(And, for our Christian Friends, we never would have had Jesus.)
