But of course the Slimes wants James Gunn to skate on his pedophilia comments cuz they were “when he was young.”

There is no question, Black participation in pro baseball has dropped off the table. No mystery— Most Black athletes with career ambitions go for basketball and football, hoping to get rich in the draft. And, there is a plentiful supply of high quality Hispanic players from all over Central America and the Caribbean happy to pick up the minority option.

Ok, and when a Black says “Black Power” it’s OK?
Your problem is that you are obsessed with hate for Whitey, and are blaming Whitey for your hate.

When a White REPEATS racist words that were originally spoken by a Black, the White becomes racist. You see, the words are NOT RACIST when spoken by a Black, but change into something racist when pronounced by a White.
Nooooo. Blacks call each other HO, MF, Ni****, bitch, and worse, but are NEVER criticized for it. I’m sick of the double standard.

“Let’s pose a counterfactual: Josh Hader is black, and an excavation of his Twitter account reveals that he called whites “crackers,” wrote of his hatred for them and endorsed an organization that engaged in genocidal violence against whites. One of his tweets included a picture of a clenched black fist. That black pitcher had also expressed hatred for gays and made graphic, misogynist statements.”

I say it all depends on his current behavior...and ERA.

They guy was 17. Deal with it.

The same people going after Hader on this are the same people excusing all the pedo comments from lefties. #pizzagate is real.

GFY you white hater.

People are tired of the total hypocrisy behind all this race crap. Tired of whites being fair game to unload on all the while ignoring the racial crap coming from many non-whites. Plus so called 'POC' being encouraged to embrace their ethnicity while whites are demonized if any inkling of ethnicity is shown or suggested.

Seems, these days, for white people - especially males - to get into any profession, they have to pass the “did-I-do-anything-even-remotely-racist-since-birth” test.

The problem with these naysayers is, those with “white privilege”, are just those with “white” skin...and the haters can’t stand it.

Maybe it’s because THEY weren’t born “white’...I don’t know, but envy is a prime cause for “hate”...especially when you’re talking about someone you don’t even know, at all, then the only thing your *could be* talking about is the color of their skin.

The only exception are *white* movie stars, *white* famous people, and *white* millionaires...somehow, they are exempt.

If the dude can throw the ball better than anyone else, he should get the job. Professional baseball is not a government entity, and is certainly not a “social experiment”.

I’ve heard a few stories in recent years, often in conjunction with celebrating Jackie Robinson, that the percentage of black baseball players has really declined a lot in recent years.

Yes, there are few black players anymore. They have bought into the lie that baseball is too "white" or a "white man's" game. And, those you see are more than likely to come from an Hispanic background.

I laugh when I hear people talk about baseball being "too white". What century are they living in. If anything, it is way too Hispanic and foreign. It saddens me that native-born Americans are not playing the game from an early age. The Seattle Mariners has some "white" players. There is one young black guy, Dee Gordon, who plays 2nd base, and is a very exciting player to watch -- his base-running is something to behold. But, most of the players seem to come from the Carribean or Central/South America.

So, I don't know where they get this idea that baseball is as "white" as it used to be in the 40's.

They use the n-word every other sentence. But then again, only blacks use it. Go figure!

Yes, this always ticks me off. If you want people to stop using the "N" word, then stop using the "N" word. I don't see members of other racial groups calling each other crude names, why do American Blacks do this?

People have historically taken possession of slurs—deplorables anyone? Before the PC police wrested control from normal people, it was very common for people of all races and cultures bandy about slurs without animus. Today, it’s primarily used to keep people alienated.

Baseball is, by far, the most racial diverse professional sport.

Baseball has to many whites...oh no...we got to promote inner city baseball, which they do, but don't they think the Dominican Republic people are black?

First world problem: To many whites playing baseball...but did they forgot Asian players?

that’s nothing compared to what the mayor of Charlottesville said, and much more recently - and he got elected by his dem constituents hungry for the city-funded $50K/head he pays out to his supporters

It’s not because they aren’t being encouraged to get into pro baseball:

https://www.mlb.com/news/diversity-blossoming-within-baseball/c-224160762

...Over the past five years, the first round of the amateur Draft has featured 34 African-American players out of 168 total selections, or 20.2 percent.

In each of the past two Drafts, an alumnus of the RBI program and the Breakthrough Series (Dillon Tate in 2015 and Corey Ray in ‘16) was taken among the top five picks.

These prominent Draft selections have contributed toward African-Americans making up 14 percent of MLBPipeline.com’s 2017 Top 100 Prospects list, with Latino players accounting for 33 percent.

Black players account for 17 percent of the spots on the Top 100 posted by ESPN.com’s Keith Law.

Each of the top three and six of the top 25 prospects for the 2017 Draft, as determined by MLB.com, are African-Americans, including Hunter Greene, an alumnus of MLB’s Youth Academy in Compton.

And at the high school level, five of the first 12 players on Baseball America’s Top 100 High School Draft Prospects list are black...
