We are going to lose the next war because of this.

When I was going through Ft Knox, we had a kid in my troop who was Jack Kemp’s nephew.

He washed out in the second week with a failure to adapt type discharge.

Maddog? That’s a bad joke on all of us who served and love the Army.

Could it be Your attitude is be because Mattis is a Marine??????
General Mattis was confirmed and sworn in Jan. 20, 2017. That means he has been in office one year and 7 1/2 months. I have news for everyone, Rome was not built in a day even in this Microwave push button world. Patience is a virtue. We do not need a trash bag full of diversions at the moment. We need a concerted effort on all fronts to achieve our paramount objective, to WIN the mid term elections. A fight over women in the Military can do nobody any good at this moment in time. A little tactical awareness would not hurt right now.

Part of the problem is the military’s over reliance on GPS.

Yes, the CST is fine for women, because they’re not extended combat operations.

I like that you granted that females have some skills and didn’t just dismiss them because they’re girls.
.................................................
Agreed. My son’s excellence his first day on the firing line at Marine Boot camp led to his instructor saying, “Where did you learn to shoot like that?”
His answer was simple, “My mom.”
There are many singular or multiple expertises women have that are wasted because they do not have the whole package due to physical limitations.
in the second world war, the underground functioned because of women, planes were delivered where they were needed because of women, war machines were built because of women and on and on. Rather than playing all these allotment or PC games, let common sense dictate where and even when, women can be an effective addition. I am sick and tired of the constant attacks on men of every shape and description. There are some things women can’t do. Nobody was ever more physically fit than I was in my prime. Whereas I would have no trouble pulling a drowning 250 pound man to safety in the ocean, I could never throw a wounded man over my shoulder and carry him to safety on land. Common Sense needs to be brought back into perspective. Put an end to all the political correctness once and for all. If a woman wants a position LET HER EARN IT. I did. In a Man’s World.

Ask yourself why Mattis has had nearly two years to clean this up and it still goes on without the slightest change.

Not true.

Mattis has changed many things, mostly for the better.

His position is that every soldier should be given the opportunity to achieve their aspirations in the military because Mattis values motivation and and a burning desire to excel as a core conviction.

Mattis also has been clear that physical and mental skills needed to perform a position at maximum combat effectiveness are a non negotiable requirement.

Mattis’s directives are being sabotaged by Obama era political officers in positions of authority.

Mattis seems to have taken the best approach but it will take time to filter down

Soldiers “ARE” going to die because of this! When it happens some officers should be charged with aiding and abetting Murder!

An interesting post. Further confirmation that the US should exit Afghanistan. We won’t do what the British did to Pathans who ambushed or sniped them, burn down the village, blow up the wells, and cut down the fruit trees. The Pathans are excellent at field craft, good shots and total sh*ts who revel in treachery and viciousness. For them to tolerate you you must convince them you are as violent and unrelenting as they are.

A female can have the most burning heart and soul desire to be a paratrooper, and dedicate herself to preparing to earn that role. But she can't out-train the fact that she is many times more likely to suffer crippling bone injury and pelvic organ prolapse. Motivation and a burning desire aren't going to change the physical reality of sexual dimorphism. Aside from that, Mattis should know that there are forces at work that will never stop pushing certain people for advancement based on irrelevant criterion and as such the pool should be limited to the largest possible group of basically qualified -- men.

The military doesn't accept people with uncorrectable poor eyesight, or people with respiratory deficiencies. This isn't some Invictus, earn your dream poster on the wall situation, this is a taxpayer funded organization designed to kill our enemies in the most violent manner possible. That will always be most efficiently achieved with men. Even in instances of women with remarkable gifts, the degree and amount of training required to get them to a level that men can be trained with much less time and effort makes the inclusion of women in combat arms foolish, just as it would be foolish to include obese people...

Mattis being a Marine does have something to do with my attitude. I fully expected him to be no nonsense, to get it right, not wallow in the destructive experiments forced on the military by the haters in Obama’s administration. Yes, him being a Marine does have a lot to do with my attitude.

It absolutely is true. Mattis complained long and loud about women in combat when he was in a position not to influence those decisions. Now that he runs the DoD, he is stone cold silent. He apparently never expected to be in charge and now he can’t find the nerve to follow through.

BTW, why did he try to countermand Trump’s order to get rid of the cross dressers?

I guarantee you that he has the political capitol to get what he wants from Congress. He has not lifted a finger and even tried to countermand Trump’s order to get rid of cross dressers. An utter and complete failure.

I think Mattis has been quite busy taking out ISIS. ISIS was a foremost threat to the USA and all western states. Trump had the wisdom to put Mattis in charge. ISIS is now a whiff of air as they have been destroyed. All that remains is a fragment here and there and they were defeated in ONE YEAR. Give credit where credit is due.

Let me remind you of the words of Abraham Lincoln: “From whence shall we expect the approach of danger? Shall some trans-Atlantic military giant step the earth and crush us at a blow? Never. All the armies of Europe and Asia...could not by force take a drink from the Ohio River or make a track on the Blue Ridge in the trial of a thousand years. No, if destruction be our lot we must ourselves be its author and finisher. As a nation of free men we will live forever or die by suicide.”
