I’ll never forget during the Grenada invasion of a female officer sitting in a jeep, crying her eyes out when the bullets flew.

Political correctness will get people killed and will aid in the takeover of the USA. Just as planned.

Stop this madness!

This crap been going on for decades. I was a class mate of a black 1LT. The first two weeks of class were basic electronics. Nothing more than about the first few days of the first college course in basic electronics, E=IxR sort of stuff. Guy failed the test. Failed the make up. By reg, should have been kicked out of class. HQDA directed he be retained and pass the course since that MOS was under-strength black officers. File to be annotated “not to be assigned troop duties”. The saddest thing is he had a Electrical Engineering degree.

Without artificial hormone injections, females will never have the muscle mass to compete physically with fit men. That's the way God designed humans. Each sex was optimized according to his plan.

As the father of two Marines and foster son in the Army this story makes me sick. I hope Mattis is working on this stuff. I’m going to give the benefit of the doubt that it will take a little time to effect change in these areas.

May God Bless and protect our military.

Of all the abominations of the Obama administration, Ash Carter may have been the most abominable.

T Y 4 posting. This a Military atrocity! It has been well documented, and proven to be true.

My hope is that Mattis is not actively aiding and abetting this lunacy, rather, I hope he sees it for being very destructive to The Corp he loves!

I hope is just biding his time, he has so much to accomplish...

Lower priority?

Ranger School is a leadership course. The course uses small unit operations and patrolling as the context for the challenges presented to students. Physical exertion, stamina, lack of sleep and food are all designed to push students beyond their limits. Ranger students discover their personal limits and they learn how to keep going when they exceed those limits. Some quit, others graduate. Very skilled NCO’s are there to push those limits without causing injury or death. If those NCO’s decide that someone should not graduate, they seldom do so. The purpose of the training is to prepare leaders for the stresses of leadership under duress. If females are pushed beyond their limits and still continue, so be it.

The problem is when senior officers are controlling the process for political purposes, they are subverting the design of the training which has served the Army very well over the years. Women soldiers and women officers who cannot stand up to the physical requirements of infantry combat will fail in combat where the enemy can control the environment, not senior officers. A female helicopter pilot will probably benefit from Ranger School training and will probably never encounter the physical and mental challenges that they faced in Ranger School. She will just be a pilot with a Ranger Tab, and a better one to boot. A female infantry or Ranger leader is a different matter. Failure in combat will get other soldiers killed and the mission will be at risk.

Female infantry soldiers and leaders in Afghanistan will be placed in positions that do not push them beyond their limits. There are such positions in all infantry battalions, and good infantry battalion commanders will take that into account when making decisions. It won’t become an issue until an infantry unit is overrun by a superior force and every soldier on the ground is killed or captured. That will be followed by navel gazing and second guessing that will bring this silly idea to an end.

Anyone interested in this should read “Lesley’s War”. She was the first member of Cultural Support Team (CST) KIA. I don’t give a crap about training, could they hack it in the real world? How about females doing fast rope? They did it. The Rangers said the stayed right with them every step of the way. Part of the CST did community outreach but the other part were there when Rangers were kicking doors down and taking names. The members selected for CST went through an abbreviated Ranger Course led by Rangers. They saved soldier’s lives! They went into families where men could not go. Before they arrived there was a case where a large number of men dressed up as women and walked right out the front door in front of a group of Marines. Many times the CST members would talk quietly with females who would say, “There’s a man living in this house who is not a member of our family”. Since the death of Lesley another CST has been killed. Twelve mines linked together and a Ranger stepped on one and the female was standing 50 meters away and was killed.

I've always assumed a Ranger would have to know Map and Compass very well because they are elite - they know everything a standard soldier knows but much better. From what I saw standard soldiers had problems remembering Map and Compass. But I had a trick I learned in Boy Scouts.

I noticed on my first Jamboree in Boy Scouts everyone forgot map and compass even though they had a merit badge in it. So rather than look as confused as them the next Jamboree I spent the night before studying my map and compass - every Jamboree. On the Jamborees from then on I always looked like a Map and Compass genius.

I just did the same thing in the Army - before going out to the field for any reason I reviewed the materials; it worked like a charm again and all were amazed!

Very interesting that my comments under the article did not show up and these comments to me don’t show up when I log onto FreeRepublic. Mattis and Trump have done NOTHING to clean out this cesspool and throwing money at DoD while it is rotten to its core will do nothing to improve our military. Mattis is nothing but a caretaker, changes nothing and accomplishes nothing. He is no more a Mad Dog than some child’s stuffed animal.

Soldiers “ARE” going to die because of this! When it happens some officers should be charged with aiding and abetting Murder!
