Trump owns the GOP base after a hostile takeover of the party. It would take a either a hostile takeover of the Democrat party by Bloomberg or a successful independent run. Not sure either of those scenarios is a real threat.
It’s interesting that these Billionaires, whether Left or Right, spend tens of millions to affect a political outcome and their efforts can only influence those on the edges.
Maybe they think that that is enough and they rationalize their efforts as being successful.
