Well this is news to millions of fans of the beloved PBS franchise. Then again, maybe not. The topic of Bert and Ernie’s homosexuality has been a subtle joke over the years. Saltzman recalled a comical story from the San Francisco Chronicle awhile back that mentioned how one progressive child picked up on the not-so-subtle clues. He stated, “a preschooler in the city turned to mom and asked, ‘Are Bert and Ernie lovers?’
“That coming from a preschooler was fun, and that got passed around,” he mentioned

I see now. Saltzman said that. Henson and Oz (creators of the Muppets) said otherwise. Whatever. That sort of thing shouldn’t be publicized in circumstances that will affect children or their parents. It’s time to stop putting it in the faces of the people of the U.S.A.

Every proponent of Leftist ideology is an activist. It’s not enough to practice whatever your self-image is. You have to promote or mainstream gayness to justify that self-image. You must promote gayness in everything you do. Gay, as opposed to homosexuality, is a political agenda. It is possible to be a conservative homosexual, but it is not possible to be a gay conservative. They are opposite agendas. That is the danger of allowing gays in government or the military. They aren’t in the government or the military for public service. They are there to promote an agenda. Anything an individual employee or service member does to promote a private agenda while working at a public job comes at the expense of that public job. Thus you end up with the IRS targeting conservative organizations or a service “person” divulging secrets. If you hire a gay to work as a puppeteer, he will inevitably create gay puppets to promote his agenda.
Now they should be axed.

Obviously, to that writer, a set of salt and pepper shakers are “gay lovers” too.
Well, thanks to postmodern literary theory we can just reject the writer’s perspective. He has no claim to the meaning of Bert and Ernie.

Puppets cannot be gay. They are not humans. They are stuffed cloth with big fake eyes.
However, with the left, nothing is just what it is and no more. Everything is symbolic of something else. Everything is political. Nothing occurs on the big or the little screen without it being a message, trying to get into our heads to change our way of thinking.
The truth is, that when Ernie and Bert were created, the gay crap was not first and foremost in the mind of the left. They just hadn’t thought of making them gay yet.
Today, if they were invented today, they would be gay all right, but one would be trans, the other would have had an abortion and both would spew their hatred for Trump.
