Ocasio-Cortez: My proposals aren’t 'pie in the sky’ (the bartender wants to 'invest')

New York congressional candidate Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez defended an ambitious slate of policy proposals Sunday, casting the various planks of her Democratic Socialist agenda as long-term investments that would pay dividends for future generations of Americans.

“What we need to realize is that these investments are better and they are good for our future," Ocasio-Cortez said in an interview on CNN's "State of the Union."

"These are generational investments," she said. "They're not short-term Band-Aids, but they are really profound decisions about who we want to be as a nation and how we want to act as the wealthiest nation in the history of the world.”

“These systems are not just pie in the sky. They are, many of them are accomplished by every modern civilized democracy in the Western world," she added.

All she needs is your loot.

Not pie in the sky at all. Merely dystopian.

Crazy-eyes Cortez is using the Hillary approved method of obfuscation - call flushing taxpayer money down the drain...an investment!

Better yet - GENERATIONAL investment.

That way she can’t be held accountable for at least four or five decades, upon which is would be far too late.

who we want to be as a nation

Oh, I don't know ... I'm pretty happy with who we are as a nation right now, if we could just get rid of this pesky liberal infection.

and how we want to act as the wealthiest nation in the history of the world.

And how do you think we got to be the wealthiest nation in history? Hint: it wasn't by the forced redistribution of wealth in pursuit of some false notion of egalitarianism. It was by encouraging, respecting, and protecting private property rights. You know, the opposite of what YOU'RE proposing. Your proposals gave the world Cuba, Venezuela, and a host of other poverty-drenched shyteholes.

I have personally provided room and board to people I knew who were “down on their luck”. I had to coach them all to get jobs or better jobs and eventually start collecting rent until it forced them to get their own place long after they could afford it.

The temptation to live off of others is quite seductive. I know first hand how the “hammock” instead of a “safety net” works. It takes individuals who really care about the unfortunate to drive them to competency. When government workers whose job depends on a steady flow of the “unfortunate” are managing the job, they encourage others to remain incompetent at managing their own lives.

...how the U.S. government would fund a federal jobs guarantee, "Medicare-for-all," tuition-free public college and other programs that could cost roughly $40 trillion over the next decade, Ocasio-Cortez insisted she was not blind to the "political realities" of enacting her platform.

Uhh...'cuse me...the US gov't funds nothing. US citizens fund everything. Typical Democrat smoke-and-mirrors. Two weeks ago I was in Budapest listening to a tour guide tell us how heath care and education were free in Hungary. I couldn't stand it any more, so I said, "Not free, subsidized". She said: "No, it really is totally free!" So I asked: "What are your tax rates?" She admitted income taxes were 40% and they paid a 21% VAT tax on every purchase. I said: "So you pay about 61% of your income in taxes to your central gov't but insist what they provide is free?" Crickets...

Cortez is just another brainwashed idiot who believes in a free lunch.

Money invested in the Great Socirty programs are paying some pretty ugly dividends , these days. I wonder what kind of unintended consequences we can expect from Miss Smartypants’ proposals.
