When people tell me we are a democracy, I explain that our founding fathers had actually studied history and learned that every time the electorate of a democracy discover they can vote themselves money from the public treasury, the nation commits suicide.
That is why they set up our form of government as a republic.
The average length of a democracy is 200 years. We have already sunk into too much “democracy” - redistributing wealth. We are at a turning point and I hope there are enough of us left to allow us to make the right decision.
DJT is a great help, but he needs our support and constant encouragement to impose restraints on the “safety net”.
The Election of Representatives is a Democratic Process.
What is always missing in the Liberal argument of direct Democracy is those same Representatives are limited in their actions while in Office by our Federal Constitution.
Fidelity to our Republican form of Governance is never mentioned.
I would say that 90% of the Laws our Congress passes are in direct violation of the Federal Constitution. Once that line was crossed the Republic as envisioned by our Founders has been rendered null and void.
The lack of respect for the Constitution and its limitations on the power of our Federal Government by all three Branches has led us to where we are today, fighting for our Individual Rights every minute of every day.
