Nancy Pelosi is declaring victory in the battle for the House.
In public and private, the House minority leader — who wants to make history herself by retaking the speaker’s gavel she lost eight years ago — has said Democrats will pick up more than enough seats to win back the House and end the Republicans’ lock on Congress.
Appearing on “The Late Show” with Stephen Colbert on Tuesday, Pelosi (D-Calif.) said that “up until today, I would've said, 'If the election were held today, we would win.”
"What now I'm saying is, 'We will win, we will win," Pelosi announced.

And before you give me a lecture that it should have been "Schadenfreude," the reason why I posted "Freudenschade" is because a DUmmie once exclaimed "Freudenschade" when anticipating a victory that did NOT happen. This was catalogued by the DUmmie FUnnies and Freudenschade is the new way of expressing hubris. IOW, prematurely declaring a victory doomed to not happen.
The ancient greeks considered hubris, extreme or foolish pride or dangerous overconfidence, to be a grave sin as in this case with Pelosi. And their ancient gods punished those guilty of hubris. When that happens with a boomerang that is Freudenschade.

It’s not Shadenfreud. It’s telegraphing that the Democrats have this in the bag and there is no need to spend more money. It’s a classic Obama move as in 2012. When he debated Romney he basically phoned it in. Pelosi is doing the same thing.
