The Media, Democrats were apoplectic about Trump's response to Pittsburgh shooting

The media and Democrats were apoplectic about President Trump’s comments after the horrific shooting attack at the Pittsburgh synagogue. For the most part, the media viewed his condolences as pitch-perfect. What upset them were Trump’s remarks about gun control.

When asked whether the shooting meant that we should have more gun laws, Trump responded, “Well, again, this has little to do with it. If they had protection inside, the results would have been far better. This is a dispute that will always exist, I suspect.”

A New York Times news article referred to “the president’s assertion that gun laws had little to do with the shooting” (emphasis added).

Despite all of the academic evidence showing that neither expanded background checks nor federal or state assault weapon bans actually stop mass public shootings, the Times doesn’t use the word “assertion” when Nancy Pelosi or other Democrats call for those types of gun control laws.

A survey of economists and criminologists who have published peer-reviewed, empirical research on gun control indicates that most think that President Trump is on to something when he draws attention to the dangers of gun-free zones.

By a 2.3-to-1 margin, these academics agree with the statement that, “Gun-free zones, areas where civilians are banned from having guns, [are] more likely to attract criminals than they are to deter them.” By an almost 6.6-to-1 margin, the researchers think that allowing people to carry a permitted concealed handgun is more likely to lower the murder rate than to increase it.

Police have been even more overwhelming in their support for Trump’s claims.

PoliceOne occasionally surveys its 450,000 members — 380,000 active-duty and 70,000 retired law enforcement officers — and a March 2013 questionnaire by the group found that 86 percent of members believe that casualties from mass public shootings.....

I want to print a window sticker that says “This house is a gun-free zone” and give it to gun grabbing democrats. If they won’t announce it for their own home, why would they announce it for a school or church?

Can we just agree that at least one headline every day is going to begin with, “Media, Democrats apoplectic about Trump’s...”?

I’d say he lives in their heads rent free, but it’s much more extensive than that. He’s more like a puppetmaster; he just doesn’t need strings.

Did not work out too well for the Jews, or anybody else, when Hitler took their guns. The Jews paid an unbelievably high price for German gun control.

Amazed to see an article on page 1 of the “World” section of today’s Press of Atlantic City - usually totally and rabidly anti-Trump - headed “Pittsburg rabbi says Trump surprised him”. Not the usual Associated Press article on which the paper relies, this one was from WaPo, and was also unusual in that it was quite complimentary to the president. It quotes the rabbi as saying he “was ‘pleasantly surprised’ to discover a ‘warm and personal side’ to President Trump”. It goes on to say “The president was very warm, very consoling, put his hand on my shoulder, and the first question he asked me was, “Rabbi, tell me how you are doing’”. Somebody slipped up somewhere......

A backhanded compliment to be sure.

Sounds backhanded for sure - I can’t quote the whole article but the rabbi is quoted elsewhere as saying he doesn’t think the country has seen the warm side of Trump, so his comment seems more in the way of Trump should show that side of himself more often than of I didn’t think he had it in him......

“Did not work out too well for the Jews, or anybody else, when Hitler took their guns. The Jews paid an unbelievably high price for German gun control.”

Being Jewish, and having had about 100 of my distant relatives murdered by Herr Hitler and his evil minions throughout Europe, I have studied that era and those events quite extensively. I can report that I have never heard of an example of the people being shoved out of cattle cars carrying firearms with them, nor of guns being cleaned out of gas chambers along with bodies, nor of guns being cleaned out of crematoria along with ashes.

My wife’s uncle, who I had the pleasure of knowing for about 14 years before he died, and who was in 4 of Herr Hitler’s camps, knew that I had several guns, so he took me into a back room and showed me his collection. I asked him why he had so many (not meant in a bad way, of course), and he said, “because the f’ing Germans made sure that we never had any.”

I have NEVER been able to understand those Jews who are in favor of gun control. I really and truly believe that they suffer from one or several mental disorders, the combined effect of which is to make them deathly afraid of guns, while being utterly sure that the only people who should be allowed to own them are in uniforms and controlled by a bunch of lying, thieving politicians.

Spooky similarity that these leftists want to subvert our Constitution, create open borders, silence me, dilute my vote and take my guns. Why on earth does ANY American citizen trust them?????
