..he has to get hit in the head every other week...
If you read the French language media, there is no promise not to put it back in.
And then, when no one is looking, he will implement some other law that controls the people more. The slow boiling of the frog will continue.

The only surprise is that the original statement said a suspension of the tax for six months...putting it right up to the date of the EU election in the spring. No shocker for them to realize that was a very poor decision. So now....a full year.
Macron has burnt just about each bridge that he’s crossed...today, if you held the election...he’d probably only clear 15-percent of the national vote (if this were opened up to the dozen-odd political parties that exist).
He is done. Stepped on his Johnson and there is no going back. He needs to call out the Gendarmerie now.
Of course the tax is going to be reintroduced.
Socialist are firm believers in the carrot and stick method of government.
They use financial incentives to get people to do what the government wants. Subsidize what you want more of and tax what you want less of.
The government wants the people to stay home and freeze in the dark, so they are going to tax the H out of fuel.
The Macron needs to meet La Guillotine and the people need to end the government.
A caller to Rush’s show (a substitute) said he and his daughter visited Paris a few days ago, in the thick of the protests. The protestors were shouting, “Trump! Trump!” Of course, our MSM edited that out.
So... What are the students’ “grievances”?
I heard about that as well from a friend and yep, our Pravda media completely ignores it. The US media is like North Korea now when it comes to news, you literally have to seek outside sources to get the real news.
“The protestors were shouting, Trump! Trump! “
I have a feeling the Trump message is well understood by the average Joe in any country, be it the USA or France, where people are the subject of elitist socialist rule.
The 2015 “Paris Climate Accord” goes up in smoke.
Thank you President Trump for sticking a fork this marxist scheme.
the yellow vests are not one political party, but the left is busy trying to co-opt the movement:
The Latest: Macron’s government may face no-confidence vote
Washington Post-2 minutes ago
French left-wing opposition parties are seeking a no-confidence vote in President Emmanuel Macron’s government amid growing protests and fears of violence.
6 Dec: UK Express: END OF MACRON: French MPs launch NO CONFIDENCE vote amid nationwide anger and riots
EMMANUEL Macrons leadership is hanging by a thread as left-wing groups within the French parliament discuss launching a no confidence vote against the president.
By Romina McGuinness
Now BFMTV says left-wing parties within the French parliament have agreed to discuss a no confidence vote against Mr Macrons government. The French Communist Party and the Socialist Party are leading the rebellion.
First Secretary of the Socialist Party Olivier Faure wrote on Twitter: Weve decided to work together to file a no confidence vote [to the government] next Monday. During the coming days, we will seek to increase the number of signatories. We have to show that other ways are possible.

Better call Brenda Snipes.
The only question of how it is put back in is the new form it takes. This same problem existed before, and with the tax a LOT lower, the colonies griped against K. George. The result of course is history:
1651 Navigation Acts
1733 Molasses Act
1751 Currency Act
1764 Sugar Act
1765 Stamp Act
1765 Quartering Act
1766 Declaratory Act
1767 Townshend Acts
1773 Tea Act
1774 Coercive or Intolerable Acts
Was that a good chant or a bad chant?
It appears globalist Macaroni has bitten off more than he can chew.
“Was that a good chant or a bad chant?”
Well, since our MSM media was editing it out ...
(The French resistance likes what Trump’s doing for America.)
The Yellow Vests shouldn’t settle for anything short of Macron’s (and his government’s) resignation.
Guillotining him and his cronies would be better, though.
