"The gas is believed to be phosgene"
As published around 5am by BBC News online, removed from later versions
It was just last month (November 11th) that world leaders from some 80 nations gathered at the Arc de Triomphe to commemorate the end of World War I.

An account on the BBC website saying that was published around 5am Eastern, but a later version did not mention it.....

I used a search engine to find a repost of this story in its original form.

The 8th paragraph as I see it has the phosgene reference.
As I posted tonight, the low casualty figures don’t seem to confirm the notion that phosgene was used.

LOL.
I was exposed to it when using a torch in a refrigerant rich environment like in the case of a leak repair. The flame would break down the refrigerant into a form of it. The flame would take on a greenish hue.
Flame type leak detectors would also cause it if in an enclosed area. Though not a pure form, it was a high irritant and would really begin to burn the hell out of your nose and lungs.
“Ascetic” acid? What are you, a hermit?
Otto Kor Wrecked. (But it was the self-depriving monks who gave the acid in vinegar its name...)
