Beto Mania Update: As if on cue with this morning’s Campaign Update, a new poll commissioned by Moveon.org has Irish Bob O’Rourke surging into the lead in the 2020 Democrat nominating contest even before he formally announces his inevitable candidacy:

An early straw poll of members of the progressive group MoveOn.org shows a wide-open competition for liberal voters in the 2020 Democratic presidential contest, with Rep. Beto O’Rourke narrowly beating out former Vice President Joe Biden…
The most popular potential candidate was O’Rourke, D-Texas, who was selected by 15.6 percent of respondents, followed by Biden at 14.9 percent, and then Sen. Bernie Sanders, I-Vt., with 13.1 percent.
Now, a couple of things to note about this poll: First, it was conducted among the members of Moveon.org, who most observers would assume are on the left flank of the Democrat voter base, and five years ago that assumption would have been true. But is it true now? Probably not – the Party has been pulled so far to the left over the last two years and Moveon.org’s members might well be to the right of the center of that particular leftwing universe these days.
Second, the poll did not include the Coughing Crook among its potential candidates, and anyone who thinks she has given up on her the presidential ambitions that have consumed her entire adult live is living in a dream world.
Third, the poll did include such Democrat luminaries as Kamala Harris, Cory Booker, Fauxcahontas and Micheal Bloomberg (who used to pretend to be a Republican), and represents very, very bad news for those characters. Harris and Booker were supposed to be the “young guns” in the 2020 Democrat field, and, after damaging themselves terribly during the Kavanaugh hearings, are in grave danger of seeing their rising moons eclipsed by the Beto Mania that is fast sweeping the country.
Irish Bob is going to be the Democrat nominee in 2020, as amazing as that might still seem to some of you. Yes, he’s a loser. Yes, he has no real qualifications for the job. Yes, there are going to be 20 other candidates in the field.
But he’s going to be the nominee. Might as well just start printing up the bumper stickers now.

Yes there are foolish women who vote stupidly, but there are plenty of men who are equally guilty of making the same mistake.
That’s not to say men don’t vote foolishly. Just not for that specific reason.

The woman vote will be the deciding factor in 2020 and it is not always something to be looked upon as a positive thing.
If your job went to Mexico, you aren't going to like a guy who pretends to be Mexican.
And if you are Mexican-American you may not love the guy who appropriates your heritage.
What apparently worked in El Paso may be play in the country as a whole.
Voters may get behind a White guy -- or a minority or woman candidate -- but somebody who's one thing but pretending to be another is going to confuse them.
But look - if the three other leading contenders are in their seventies - young folks will go with the guy who looks young.
Remember the drooling Kennedy cousin last year? Until the drooling incident, democrats were talking him up as presidential candidate material. Beto looks a little like a Kennedy, and that still motivates some people. I wonder if poor homely President Lincoln could have gotten elected in the age of t.v.and mass media?

I’ve never met a man who voted for a woman for political office based on her looks. No man is going to fantasize about a romp in the Lincoln bedroom with Amy Klobuchar or whoever.
Not yet anyway. Could change as more attractive women run for office.

The Democrat nominee, however, will be who ever the Deep State wants. It's a must-win election for them.
You know, I’m from Texas. But at this point after LBJ and GHW Bush, and W, I am thinking there needs to be some kinda three strikes law for Texas.

You are spot on. I remember when Bill Clinton was running, many of us were elated when he was nominated as he was going to be so easy to beat. Same with Obama.
Same with Hillary but fortunately we had Donald Trump running on our side. She would have beaten just about anybody else in the field.
The RATs are, more than likely, working on their “voter fraud” campaign and scouring cemeteries for voters.
I’ll give him “blandly good looking.” Same label I’d put on Tom Cotton.But you have to remember that when they were just emerging respectively the media told us that Clinton and Obama were handsome, and their wives beautiful and glamorous
On the other hand, the Democrats have not won with a white male Presidential nominee in this millennium.
