I note that the Washington Republicans are already whining about not being able to (fill-in-the-blank) because of the uncooperative Democrats: Rep. Scalise: Pro-Border Security Democrats Being Held Hostage by Extreme Radicals Like Nancy Pelosi. Finally, theyre back in the underdog position theyre so fond of and comfortable with.
Republicans have proved themselves useless in advancing their own agenda. Take Michigan for example: our supreme RINO governor Rick Synder will be leaving office at the end of an 8 year run having done nothing other than sign a right to work bill into law while also expanding Michigans Medicaid under Obamas Affordable Care Act - a burden that now rests solely on the shoulders of state residents as the federal subsidies have died. He also reduced business taxes, yay, while eliminating the tax exemption on retiree pensions. Then theres the bill he vetoed after it passed both chambers of the legislature to eliminate gun-free zones. So much for Republicans being 2nd Amendment advocates.
Oh, and then theres this: he passed a 7.3-cent-per-gallon tax increase in 2015 intended to fund the improvement of Michigans beyond abysmal roads and bridges. Where did the money actually go? Certainly not to repair roads, and most Michigan residents have pot hole inflicted wounds to prove it. No, in typical RINO bait and switch fashion the money actually went to fund ready? Medicaid and public schools. So it came as no surprise when Democrat Gretchen Whitmer handily won the November governors race on essentially one campaign slogan: Fix the Damn Roads!
So when the pictures of this years Main Street Christmas tree on picturesque, car-free Mackinac (pronounced mackinaw) Island were published
it prompted comments along the line that were it anywhere else in Michigan it would be marking a pothole.
So let this serve as a cautionary tale for all those proud never Trump Republicans out there: not delivering on what you promised your constituents and blaming everyone else for your failure is how we got Trump in the first place. So if you want more Trump, thats just fine with us.
Well take an alpha dog over an underdog any day of the week.

The GOP should change their logo from an elephant to a submissive dog.
Whimpering and whining is something they’re especially good at; they should be comfortable in that role.
The GOP wants us to think they’re submissive. It has been their cover for many years now.
The RepubliCRATS are cowardly SNAKES.
Republicans: they get elected, decide their job is to get along with Democrats rather than keep their promises, they frustrate their base, they lose.
I wish we has conservatives who thought their job was to roll back progressivism rather than preserve already established abuses and overreaching.
I have to say here in AZ, the gov deftly handled the school pay issue, has the economy humming, and except for an in-migration of Californicators, pretty much has done everything I could ask for.
They’re very good at attacking Conservatives like Trump.
A weasel would be a better symbol.
GOP at the national level is the biggest con going ...vote for us and we will do ABC..
On the local level a lot depends if they have a republican legislature..
Texas model is the best...they meet every other year...
cannot screw it up if you are not there
Well give it time ...your state will be like Colorado in ten years..
The invasion is going on
THEY ARE ALREADY BRAVELY TALKING ABOUT HOW THEY ARE GOING TO DO THIS OR THAT - WHEN THEY KNOW THE NEW DEMOCRAT CONGRESS WILL REJECT IT.
ASK THEM “WHERE HAVE YOU BEEN THE LAST TWO YEARS?”
Things never remain static. The South used to be the solid Democrat south. The upper Midwest used to be solid D.
NY had GOP senators and governors 15 years ago. So did CA.
That was her sole campaign platform....Under Snyder our STATE gasoline tax rose from $.19 to $.26 per gallon added to the already 6% sales tax, vehicle registration rose 20% to approx. $144.
Add to that the Flint water scandal, the door to the state governor's office was wide open for the Democrat Gretchen Whitmer.....
