The News Misleadia has taken to lying, outright.

The shutdown is a direct effect of the do-nothing RINOs shirking their duties and thinking they could prove Trump a liar and under their thumbs by trying to force him to sign a wasteful continuing resolution...screw the Dems - this is on the Repub House and falls right into traitor Ryan’s wheelhouse.....I remember when he “accepted” the Speaker position as long as his demands were met.....the other RINOs colluded with him to ensure the Dems got their way as the RINOs tried to act as if they were helpless.

On the McClatchy story the real test is whether Mueller has the so called evidence. I think not. Cohen told Mueller he’s never been in Prague. If Mueller could prove otherwise he would not have accepted the plea he made.

Those “four people with knowledge of the matter”? They are not merely anonymous sources – they are anonymous sources being quoted by other anonymous sources, as Brit Hume so ably pointed out:

Brit Hume @brithume It turns out that the new McClatchy story on Michael Cohen in Prague is not based on intel their sources saw but what their sources’ sources said they saw. The story remains exclusive. https://dailycaller.com/2018/12/28/michael-cohen-prague-mcclatchy/

...

Bit Hume seems to have some pretty good Tweets even though he seems to be part of the Washington elite.

In my local Gannett rag this morning, a letter to the editor started with,"Our president flew down to Florida to enjoy the holidays while his employees ... are going without paychecks."
Trump went to visit the troops, not Florida. So, not only is the letter writer wrong, but so was whomever selected the "fake news" letter to be printed.

He maintains his watchability by once in awhile going against the crowd, but in a way that rides the middle....

So true. He was still in aftershock that he and Mittens didn’t make it so figured he could be the next in line “ candidate” with approval of the cabal...

If Mueller could prove otherwise he would not have accepted the plea he made.

According to Andrew McCarthy, if Mueller was working on a "collusion" case, he would not be indicting the colluders. He says you save up the colluders, Cohen, Flynn, Papa, Carter and have then testify against the Potus, for collusion. The fact that he is sentencing all these "colluders" for lying, proves, McCarthy says, Mueller's got nothing.

I think people underestimate his ambition - the play he made to steal the nomination from Trump was legendary, and was only stopped when he was told that if he went through with it, not only would he be destroyed in November (by the Republican base sitting out the election), so would every other Republican on the ballot, down to dog catcher.

It’s great that he’s out of the House, but I really doubt he’s going away.

...that murder took place four days ago now, and in all that time, not one Democrat officeholder has been asked by one intrepid “journalist” to comment on the situation.

The American press is corrupt.

You are absolutely right. It’s hard to understand how more people don’t see that.

On the other hand, maybe they do but it’s more comforting to stick you head in the sand.

nope- I’ve been saying it right along ever since obama took office- before he did, liberals and the msm were at the very least, a little coy about their disdain for the right and for morals and for our country, but once he took office, and blatantly assaulted the right at every turn, shoving his lying socialist agenda in everyone’s faces, against our wills, the liberals and msm were emboldened to take the gloves off and not even pretend they love the country anymore-

IF we get another democrat president in the near future, we can kiss our constitutional protections goodbye- the left are just salivating at the prospect of denying us our rights- and we can likely kiss at least some of our sovereignty goodbye too, and prepare to pay through the nose for a natural cyclical event like climate change, which we have absolutely nothing to to do with- unless we do what france has been doing

The reason why is obvious: The media and the Democrats are coordinating on a narrative, and that narrative dictates that only Republicans must field difficult questions about illegal immigration.
. . . and the reason for that hides in plain sight. Newspapers were fractiously independent, and blatantly about their individual printers’ opinions and POV, until late in the Nineteenth Century.

From the beginning of the Republic, news sharing among newspapers was encouraged by the institution of special low postage rates for the mailing of newsprint, but news sharing went into overdrive with the institution of the first wire service (the New York Associated Press) four years after Morse demo’d the Baltimore-Washington telegraph line in 1844. The NY AP went national as simply the Associated Press not many years later. Members (not subscribers, members) of the AP share their stories over the AP “wire,” nationwide - ”the wire” is a virtual meeting of journalists nationwide.

People of the same trade seldom meet together, even for merriment and diversion, but the conversation ends in a conspiracy against the public, or in some contrivance to raise prices. - Adam Smith, Wealth of Nations (1776)
Late or soon, the continual virtual meeting of journalism over the AP “wire” - and via the other wire services, with similar effect - simply had to result in a conspiracy against the public. It is utterly naive for anyone to assume anything else. By the mid-late Nineteenth Century, people began expressing suspicion of the propaganda power concentration which the AP represented. The AP responded that it carried stories from many newspapers, and those newspapers were (in fact, at that time) notorious for not agreeing about much of anything. So, the AP claimed, the AP itself was “objective.” And that was the beginning (or at least an early expression) of the “journalists are objective” con.

What interest do all journalists have in common? All desire to attract attention and be influential. And what better way to do that than to be known for objectivity? This is obviously in the interest of all journalists, but actual objectivity is difficult to the point of impossibility - and even seriously trying to be objective entails the unnatural act of seriously considering the possibility that you are wrong, and that “where you stand depends on where you sit.” So instead of taking the high road, and seriously trying to be objective while restricting themselves to claiming merely to try to be objective, journalists found themselves in a “meeting” which allowed them to tacitly or explicitly agree that

Any “journalist” who violates the narrative runs the risk of being dis-invited from all the best dinner parties. This is not complicated, folks.
Being dis-invited from dinner parties is the least of it. Any such journalist is ejected from any relationship with any news organization in good standing. To claim to be a journalist while denying the objectivity of the herd is to start a propaganda war with the people who buy the most ink in the world.

The "conspiracy against the public” which Adam Smith would have predicted consists primarily of homogenizing the viewpoint of journalism into its natural default. The rules for commercial success in journalism have political implications. “‘Man Bites Dog,’ not ‘Dog Bites Man’,” “If it bleeds, it leads,” and “There’s nothing more worthless than yesterday’s newspaper,” taken together, constitute a filter through which historical perspective cannot readily pass. And therefore what does pass that filter is hostile to conservative thought.

The natural propaganda wind of journalism is toward socialism, and thus “liberalism”, as Rush Limbaugh puts it, “is a gutless choice.” A political party has to exist to exploit that propaganda wind - and they call themselves "Democrats.” They don’t have to explicitly collude, they just naturally agree. Which is not to say that they do not explicitly collude - only that it is unnecessary to try to prove it.

The next big fake story of the week came from the pathetic McClatchy News Service...

This is how McClatchy covered the Iraq War during President George W Bush's administration:

As violence falls in Iraq, cemetery workers feel the pinch

A drop in violence around Iraq has cut burials in the huge Wadi al Salam cemetery here by at least one-third in the past six months, and that's cut the pay of thousands of workers who make their living digging graves, washing corpses or selling burial shrouds.
