Things I never knew about when I was young enough to fully enjoy them:
December 30th is International Bacon Day. When I was younger I could eat all the bacon I wanted with neither short or long term consequences. Now I must indulge my bacon urges only periodically.
Butt if you can still afford to do so, by all means go ahead and enjoy bacon all day long.

And nightcap:
IBD (thats International Bacon Day, not Irritable Bowel Disease) is sort of a combination of the Thanksgiving/Christmas holiday tradition of overindulging in food and the New Years Eve tradition of overindulging in drink. In short, the perfect storm, so dont forget to wear your mukluks.

And honestly, after that lovely flush of youth has passed you by
it might be prudent to consider six degrees of separation between yourself and your bacon. Lest you end up, well, looking like this after a long day of indulgence:
But if you dont heed my advice and wind up overindulging in bacon drinks either today or on New Years Eve you might want to check this out, although I filed it away under things that would have been infinitely more useful when I was (much) younger. Just heading to work. Breakkie was some tourtiere, a savoury French Canadian meat pie containing both ground beef and ground pork. Delicious!
Going to church this evening after work. Bacon is definitely on the menu for supper, when I get home tonight!
My wife tried out a new New Englan Clam Chowder recipe that includes bacon....super good....she also did one I was very leery of as it was a Brussels sprouts based dish....had leeks and bacon in it sauteed in butter and then heavy cream and mozzarella and Parmesan cheeses on top before baking for a while...actually pretty tasty but way too many Brussels sprouts for my liking.....”Burp.....toot”....
That reminds me ...time to take my Rosuvastatin tablet.
Time for a nice bacon-Gorgonzola burger!
Great post!
BTW I have only two degrees of separation between Kevin Bacon...two different ways!
I will enjoy National Bacon Day!
He’s not old enough to look so haggard.
But he did reenact the Footloose dance scene only several years ago so he must be in very god shape for his age.
This Bacon In A Can is better than much of what you can buy; pre-cooked, drained, smoke flavor added. Heat and eat. 45 slices for $10.
