House Democrats will propose a two-part plan to reopen the federal government once they take power on Thursday, according to multiple Democratic aides. The proposal, however, won’t provide President Donald Trump with his much sought-after border money boost.
Their plan would fund the Department of Homeland Security until Feb. 8, and all other closed agencies — such as Transportation, Commerce and Agriculture — for the rest of the fiscal year through Sept. 30.
Democrats intend to vote on the plan Thursday, the same day they officially wrest control of the House from Republicans. But the Senate won’t accept the measures absent an unlikely presidential endorsement.
Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.) has made clear that the chamber will only vote on a bill that has Trump’s full support. Don Stewart, a spokesman for McConnell, reiterated that stance when asked about Pelosi’s plans on Monday.
“It’s simple: The Senate is not going to send something to the president that he won’t sign” Stewart said.

Can you blame them? I believe it was two years ago they tried the same gambit. The Republicans bit, then folded in February.

You got that right. In 2017 roughly 95% of political donations from federal workers went to Democrats. This shutdown will hammer them plus President Trump stopped their automatic pay raise. The federal bureaucrats are reaping the whirlwind and will take it out on the only ones that they can hurt - the Democrat Party.
Democrats big plans face two major problems, the Senate and the President. Other than that, they are on easy street!
This is all part of their “ kabuki theater”. We wanted to open it and return everyone to work, but the evil Republican controlled Senate and presidency don’t want that.
Meanwhile there will be no mention of national security as the real reason this “ mini vacation with pay” continues.....
No he hasn’t...he hasn’t done a thing the help Trump...they would have passed the $5 billion or better yet the $25 billion deal in 2018 or 2016 instead of punting this sh*t til now and all this dependent crap on what the disaster dems do...don’t tell me anything good about the a**hole turtle!
They are putting on a show so they can have Smirky Chucky claiming the dems want to help the people by ending the shutdown they insisted on....
