I’ve never been able to find out out where the word ‘copacetic’ comes from...

(It’s supposed to mean something like ‘all right’...)

...the idea that the origin was the Hebrew phrase “HaKol B’Seder” (all is in order), attributing it to Irving Bascheller. It should be noted that Mr Bascheller was likely Jewish. If this is the case, then he may well have based it on “HaKol B’Seder” or its Yiddish variation.
