I've been to half-a-dozen different countries that were hit with civil wars (Yugoslavia, couple in Africa, couple in Central America). I've been to Yugoslavia while in uniform, and I've done contract/infrastructure work in a couple of countries, and I've done missionary work in others. I have a pretty good understanding of what a civil war does to a country at all levels because of those experiences.

I always chuckle when people like you talk about one here in the US, because people like you have no idea what another civil war would do to this country.

Let me give you a word of advice: Clearly you're not a Christian, but go find a church that does missionary work in Africa or Central America, and ask to be assigned to a country that's still recovering from a civil war. Many will be glad for your volunteering.

When CWII goes hot, where will the shooting begin and under what circumstances? Not being snarky, I’m like millions of patriots either armed or prepped, wondering how all our resources, weapons, & skills will be put to use in the cause of Liberty.

Guns are being confiscated under Red Flag but only on an individual basis. Mass seizures as in Venezuela are possible only if guns are already registered and there is huge resistance in blue states requiring such. Congress could go rogue & pass a national registration law but I doubt that and even if they did, citizens would mass respond, “Fine, now try to enforce it without searching every home in America”.

For some history, google the original gun control act of 1968. Sure, we hate having to buy through FFLs instead of direct mail, but the original bill called for national registration of guns AND Federal licensing of owners. Lyndon Johnson was seething with rage when those two measures were not in the final bill; you can feel the anger in his remarks when he signed it. I was angry too; there went my chance to acquire a genuine Walther PPK as it was now banned under new import criteria.

Back to my original question, it seems to me that for now, not being in the wrong place at the wrong time and removing political decals from one’s vehicle are the best ways to avoid danger from the Left. But sooner or later they will try to reach out and hurt someone.

Any ideas on what form that could take?

Point taken; no sane person wants civil war, and thank you for your service in war-torn areas.

But pressure is building to transform this nation in an unhealthy direction. Democrats want open borders to flood us with new Democrat voters from alien or even hostile cultures. They want to change our political culture and society. They want us all disarmed. And if we voted for Donald Trump, then IMO they hate us and want us dead (only half joking).

The catch is that their capabilities don’t match their intentions, not yet. But when states start flipping blue one after the other due to illegal immigration and there are not one but many Ihlan Omars in Congress, our democracy is in danger. What do we do? I’m looking for answers; though research tells me that “they” lack the sheer state power to “seize all the guns and put Trump voters in reeducation camps” (often heard on FR), it’s still worrisome.

I was in the military, too; early on I learned to write a five paragraph field order: situation, enemy forces, friendly forces, mission, concept of operations, logistical support, and command & signal.

Now...take those and apply them to the “mission” of confiscation. Let me have some fun with this:

Situation: Too many citizens own too many guns.

Enemy forces: Any NRA member, Trump supporter, and/or white male who possesses unregistered guns.

Friendly forces: Progressives in media, academia, & government backed by local, state, Federal law enforcement, and the U.S. military (posse commitatus be d@mned).

Mission: the complete removal of all firearms from private hands.

Concept of the operation: I HAVEN’T A CLUE! Do you?

Logistics and command & signal: Federalization of all state militias and headquartered in....the Pentagon? FBI HQ? The White House?

I’m trying to go beyond wild generalizations like “Nobody wants to take away your guns!” to “They’re gonna disarm us and kill us all!!” to some operational specifics. So far I’ve found none from the Left on the internet, just wishful thinking about one party rule for America.

Driving through a couple streets in Manteca California the other day I saw a giant American flags up and down city blocks - whole city blocks- it was incredible to see made me feel happy

My wife do you know is a Democrat but I said to her “ isnt in this country great? and she thinks this country is great

You are right about red states. I live in a tranquil corner of the South where the horrors of Portland, San Francisco, and New York City might as well be on another planet. And we’re not a border state which helps even more.

Matt Bracken personally advised me on FR to maintain a low profile, form a small association of trusted patriots for range time & sharing of ideas, avoid the named militias, and remain situationally aware.

I hope we can continue to discuss specific & realistic concepts of the near future.

Long ago I called for “peaceful” means to stop the advancement of leftist power: a national tax strike (not filing a federal tax return, and claiming maximum exemptions on the W4 form) in combination with withdrawing all funds from bank accounts, and a national trucking strike to halt all supplies - including, if necessary, a blockade of Washington DC.

Nobody wanted to take on the “risk,” and they mostly gave all the same damned excuses about being jailed or losing their “comforts.” So now, here we are.
