Buttigieg: ‘Most Americans Don’t Want the Conservative Agenda’
Breitbart - Trending ^ | 4-15-2019 | Pam Key

Posted on 04/16/2019 4:06:47 AM PDT by Sir Napsalot

Monday on MSNBC’s “The Rachel Maddow Show,” South Bend, IN Mayor Pete Buttigieg (D-IN)

(snip)

… said, “You know the Republicans in the Senate changed the numbers of justices on the Supreme Court to eight. Until they took power. Then they changed it back to nine. A lot of what we’re talking about is no less a shattering of norms than what the other side has done. …"

He added, “Most Americans don’t want this. Most Americans don’t want the conservative agenda that we are now seeing, the extreme agenda, we are seeing in Washington. In fact, it is precisely for that reason that they have to interfere with democracy with voter suppression or clinging on an electoral college that overrules the will of the American people. It’s because the American people by and large don’t want what they are selling that they are relying on manipulations of our political structure in order to keep their agenda in play.”

Buttigieg seems butthurt (pun intended) about the American political system.

But hey, what do I know? The Mayor of South Bend, IN speaks for "Most Americans".

Many Americans do want the socialist agenda. They don’t understand that socialism is not self-sustaining. They just don’t know they are choosing the Venezuela option.

What an absolute charlatan and tool this dude is:

“You know the Republicans in the Senate changed the numbers of justices on the Supreme Court to eight. Until they took power. Then they changed it back to nine. A lot of what we’re talking about is no less a shattering of norms than what the other side has done. …”

‘Most Americans Don’t Want the Conservative Agenda’

If that were a true statement, Democrats would be screaming for mandatory voter ID in every state and polling place.

Most people who do not understand the basic laws of thermodynamics love socialism. They have no clue that you do not get anything for nothing. I think a generation of kids have been raised by indulgent parents who never taught them how to work for anything, and they believe that wanting means they should have. There are now youtube videos showing the worst of these entitled (mostly adult) brats.

Actually single payer eliminates insurance premiums so my annual costs for my family go down $10,000/yr plus deductible. Of course under single payer all of that will be eaten up in payroll taxes but how much nobody talks about.

People get lost in their Eco chamber. They lose sight of the real world and the world they have surrounded themselves with becomes their real world. (It’s like having Their Own Truth.) It reminds me of the distraught man who said, “I don’t understand it, everybody I know voted for (Adlai) Stevenson.” (Yes, but he didn’t count all the people he didn’t know.)

I do not want it either but you have to admit there are aspects of single payer that are good. Those can’t be ignored or the right will lose the argument.

In fact, it is precisely for that reason that they have to interfere with democracy with voter suppression or clinging on an electoral college that overrules the will of the American people.

Where do you even begin with stupid statements like this ? This is what he believes ?? What suppression is he talking about ? Give us an example !

The Electoral College IS the will of the American People you idiot. This is the United States, plural. The President is elected by a majority of the States, which is represented by the votes of the people in each state. How is that not the will of the people ?

This popular vote crap only works if we are the United State of America. And we're not nor will we ever be.
