I was practicing at a friends private range not long ago with my 4 Kimber 1911. I dragged an old cast iron grilling plate (roughly 6 x 18 or so) out to the 100 yard mark. Wed been using it as a rifle target.
I decided what the Hell and gave it a go with the Kimber. After 3 or so shots to get the drop figured I was hitting it almost every time. The rest of the guys, and my wife, all started doing it. Most of them had some 9mm platform and Mrs L had her full size Kimber.
After a few rounds everyone was hitting it. I was probably holding 2 feet high or so.. LOL.
My point is that we were all surprised at just how far away it was possible to score hits with a handgun.

I dont own any eastern bloc guns. For western made stuff, finding and swapping out sights is fairly easy, and pretty common when taking a stock gun and tricking it out for competitive shooting.
At any rate, as a pistol shooter myself, I’m not knocking anyones preferences for guns. I just thought the whole ‘accuracy’ thing from the article was silly, since relative to rifle shooting, pistol accuracy is kind of a joke and a ‘dont care’ given the close in short ranges most common to it.
Its not a full blown 9mm. 9X18 which falls between the .380 and 9mm. I have a Mak and love it, very accurate piece!
Out of the box they shoot better. Inside the box, they’re a bit unwieldy.

Plus for concealed carry it’s chunky and a boat anchor. Carried a 92 compact for a while, was always worried about “printing”.

I would include the Ruger P89M (exceptional accuracy might be why the Chicago P.D. adopted it ;^)...
