I hate to say it also but the President has just opened a whole new can of worms. There will not be a veteran with student loan debt who does not claim to have a disability. I already know so many people and a lot of them are veterans whose only goal in life these days is to establish that they are “disabled” in some way so that they can get a free ride for the rest of their lives. Most of them are young able bodied people, and as you say the majority claim PTSD. And you would not believe the number of people who claim they have PTSD who were never near a combat zone or ever even saw a traumatic incident let alone actually experienced one.
I saw a lot of pretty brutal crap during my career... sometimes I still have bad dreams. But I am glad that I have no incentive like this to claim that I am some sort of mental case because of it.
I would agree to a point but this is for 100% disabled Vets, which I can get behind
Everyone should read B. G. Burkett’s masterpiece,
STOLEN VALOR.
It is one of the most important reads of the “1960-today” era.
It is an absolute, absolute jaw-droppingly stunning expose.
Most vets do not have student loan debt loads like the free loaders. They have GI bills that pay for college.
