VIDEO: Hurricane Dorian: Cone of Concern vs Sphere of Indifference

VIDEO

Several scenes I recorded on Labor Day, September 2, 2019, showing the sharp contrast between the Cone of Concern versus the Sphere of Indifference on Interstate 75 in Broward County. As you can see, the Cone of Concern, with the stormy outer bands of Hurricane Dorian, is on one side of the highway while on the other side the sky is a beautiful blue and sunny.

I also speculate as to whether Hurricane Dorian will become known as the Groundhog Day Hurricane because it's location and status has remained the same for quite a while.

TOPICS: Humor; Weather
KEYWORDS: hurricane; hurricanedorian
Tomorrow I will probably report that Hurricane Dorian is STILL in the same spot with all projections exactly the same. The Groundhog Day Hurricane.

You did that yesterday. And the day before, and the day before that, and the day...

Hurricanes are no joke.
But news reports about hurricanes generally are.

But what about the Truncated Rhombohedron of Doubt and Uncertainty?

Dorian is just another storm that will contribute to future indifference about hurricane safety when people use it as an example to not evacuate on the next storm which might turn out to be a killer.

I thought that only existed in some of the upper dimensions.

It is fun to watch all the weather channel talking heads deflate over this storm’s non progress. They haven’t even mentioned a Trump’s fault scenario in days now.

The Bahamas must be devastated. It looks like they got it real bad.

I'm not so sure after they show scenes of the devastation in the Bahamas. We still have seen much of that due to communications problems but we will.

The forecast has stayed consistent for me in the Jax area for days. 35ish MPH max winds. Nothing, really. I am about 10 miles from the beach.

My Alma Mater, GA Southern, played a championship game during Hurricane Hugo. It came to be known as the 'Hugo Bowl'. It took place in the Stadium of Severity. This picture is not Photoshopped:

There was a contract with ESPN, so the game was going to be played, no matter what. Whole lot of money involved. They brought in light trucks, because it was a night game, and one of those trucks almost blew over. I have never seen raindrops that big, before or since.

You should see the local news babes! They’re visibly sad we weren’t wiped out. They were doing segments literally blocks from my home, telling me all about the horrible wind, rain and flooding. As I’m sitting outside in the sunshine! Intentionally lying to my face!

As for the weather channel: never again. I will never tune in to that freak show ever. They’ve damaged themselves beyond redemption with this one.

The Weather Channel hasn’t been the same since Terri Smith. And Terri Smith was the only reason to watch the Weather Channel.

We were just in Grand Bahama over the New Year’s holiday and drove around the entire island my paddled the wife round off the west and east and then to the national park on the south shore

and when you went through 8 mile which is weet of Freeport , where the biggest port in the US is For the large supertankers, you could see the devastation from I believe it was hurricane Michael about five years ago

maybe 2014 many houses were still in a state of disrepair and not rebuilt as is the case in the tropics their things to progress very slowly

now in this case you got a hurricane sitting over there for counting now about 36 hours and that’s just causing ridiculous amounts of stars

Is Sharon Resultan still on? She was on in the late 1990’s, very pregnant, still delivering the forecast about a week or so before she delivered.

On some blog I read a day or so ago, a commenter said that the “cone of concern” was just referring to Cantore’s bald head.
