2 Timothy 3:14 – 4:5 (ESV)

But as for you, continue in what you have learned and have firmly believed, knowing from whom you learned it and how from childhood you have been acquainted with the sacred writings, which are able to make you wise for salvation through faith in Christ Jesus. All Scripture is breathed out by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, and for training in righteousness, that the man of God may be competent, equipped for every good work.

I charge you in the presence of God and of Christ Jesus, who is to judge the living and the dead, and by his appearing and his kingdom: preach the word; be ready in season and out of season; reprove, rebuke, and exhort, with complete patience and teaching. For the time is coming when people will not endure sound teaching, but having itching ears they will accumulate for themselves teachers to suit their own passions, and will turn away from listening to the truth and wander off into myths. As for you, always be sober-minded, endure suffering, do the work of an evangelist, fulfill your ministry.

The concept of the itchy ears, and the true Gospel of Jesus Christ being the only medicine that can ease that itching is what I have been trying to convey to friends and family now for years. It must be due to my early catechism and confirmation in the Lutheran Church (Missouri Synod.) I know rather, it is due to having experienced and followed all those other gospels at one time or another, but to no avail. I especially liked how you so succinctly summed up the 3 major categories of false and misleading doctrine. I would have added Charisma and Pentecostalism, but I suppose they could easily fall into those 3 major categories when one considers the fruit of their doctrine. My son and family are in ELCA, but in the Bible Belt, so not so liberal, and I know and the know, they are saved by grace and reborn into God's kingdom. I continue to pray for our brethren in ELCA.

But there will be other times when your preaching is “out of season,” when it’s unfashionable and out of step with the times. At those times folks won’t want to listen to what you’re saying.

We don’t ever experience this, do we? 😁😆🤣👍👊

Too Late. An unbaptised Emperor Constantine already fulfilled this scripture when he dictated the ‘homoousis’ portion of the Nicean creed and then coerced its adoption through threat of bannishment.

Interestingly, when Constantine finally did become a Christian, he did everything he could to reverse the ‘Nicean Creed’, but alas .... his meddling with the word of God had already taken root.

{putting on my best John Wayne voice.}

"Pilgrim; this is pretty good; coming from a believer in what Joseph Smith presented to the world."

Perhaps some folks reading this have no clue as to what you are referring to.

Maybe you will enlighten them; right?

After all; the following is found in your Quad:

1 Peter 3:15
Always be prepared to give an answer to everyone who asks you to give the reason for the hope that you have. But do this with gentleness and respect

If you do not believe Christ is one with the Father and the Holy Spirit you are not a Christian. The doctrine of the Trinity is essential to Christianity.

Then there are those who build dogma on writings that were discredited and rejected by the early church.

They will listen to the false messages of apparitions claiming to be people from the New Testament.

Here, just wear this they are told and you will avoid the eternal fire.

Or, you just need to do enough "good" works to keep your salvation.

Some even advocate that you have to be devoted to Mary for your salvation and if you don't....too bad.

*******

There is only one way to Heaven....faith in Christ.

Joseph Smith didn’t present anything to the world. He was a fraud, a deceiver, a charlatan. 😁👍

” The doctrine of the Trinity is essential to Christianity”

The article teacthes; “ St. Paul emphasizes, over and over again, the importance of teaching in accord with sound doctrine.”

“Trinity” is a title added to God’s Word to explain and translate the confusion between scriptures that say Heavenly Father and Jesus are one and scriptures that say Jesus is subordinate to His Father, but not part of the Father. It is a definition added to scripture.

You also say; “ If you do not believe Christ is one with the Father and the Holy Spirit you are not a Christian.”

Why was it not explained and translated that Jesus and God the Father had a plenipotentiary relationship?

By what authority has this definition Trinity been added to the Bible?

In the beginning was the Word. And the Word was with God and the Word was God. Sorry but your mormon heresy is not part of Christianity

“And the Word was with God and the Word was God.”

This is a definition of the word plenipotentiary.

Why do you think otherwise?
