When Eminem IS the establishment the counter-culture can only be a huge wave of common sense - known as conservatism.
They reject "woke" with vehemence. They coined the phrase "get woke, go broke". They give me hope but sadly I don't think they represent the majority of young people.

I worked with a lot of gay guys in Manhattan investment bank graphics departments.
The ones that mentioned a “room mate” and talked about them a little I was fine with. “My roommate got a great new job” or “my roommate just went back to school”...
Good for them. I know it’s your boyfriend but you’re not talking disgusting and not saying “husband”.
BUT NOW it’s ALL OUT THERE and NO SHAME.
The biggest factor was pushing transgenderism as the next civil right.
Sexually libertarian young adults had no problem with “let me have sex / marry who I want”.
The problem was the next step for sexual activists - transgenders. It went immediately from “women marrying each other” to naked intact man in the changing room telling you you’re a bigot if you disagree. It went from “let me kiss my boyfriend without harassment, too” to kicking women out of gyms and women’s shelters”.
The issue also created problems for homosexuals. Lesbians get to marry ... only to immediately be told they’re mean bigots if they won’t have sex with biologically intact men in dresses who identify as lesbian. (75% of trans-anything are men, less than 1/4 have surgery, and a large number are heterosexual). So most of the transgender access issue IS dudes in spaces segregated for women’s privacy and safety. This is a violation of principles for feminists. And for lesbians who deal with regular harassment, they’re being bullied for not having sex after the public is celebrating you can do what you want.
I’ll say the lawsuit against the guy who won’t make a porno with the dude-with-breasts because it has male plumbing is a rare exception.
There is a definite culture push, too, to eroding consent. The article telling heterosexual guys that they should have sex with homosexual friends, try it, you might like it. (Admitting it is a choice and we can shape preferences.) Drag queen story time is a deliberate sexual imprinting effort, too, but fewer people care or notice that.

Also, another major factor was the immediate push for transgender children that emerged overnight. I have yet to encounter a person who thinks giving hormones to prepubescent children is not inherently disgusting and wrong.

Stop calling them LGBTQYZ and call them what the Bible calls them: SODOMITES.
If they don't like it they can talk to the Author about it. Might be a good starting point for a conversation they should have with Him before they die.
I have. Conversely, I was sexually harassed by a mentally ill man identifying as a woman at work and punished by HR for:
* not agreeing with his identity, calling it IT or its name over “she”
* not socializing with it as it wanted, including my boss begging me to go to drinks, dinner, lunch as it wanted (and I’m married)
* reporting its behavior when it followed me into bathrooms, even when I went across the building and downstairs to try to have privacy
* reporting sexual harassment when it criticized my hair, clothing and behavior in an effort to tear me down and lift itself up
I was told that it was my fault for not being supportive when it came out and later had surgery. That it wasn’t sexual harassment when it was a woman, and I was formally reprimanded for abusing the ethics hotline for reporting the HR rep who kept putting it all on me. They only sanctioned IT once, when it was interfering in my work performance and that extended a customer outage by two hours. It blamed me. They called in a third party who proved it had done it, playing with my system permissions so I couldn’t restart services ... and I reported that to every manager who screamed at me demanding to know what happened. That embarrassed my manager. They let me change roles to avoid IT, but then they added more and more responsibilities and called it “growing talent”. I stayed until we’d paid off debt, then quit.
I work with sane people now. My boss doesn’t like Rush Limbaugh, but there’s no issue if I have Dennis Prager in the background.

Thankfully, the gay folks I’ve known have all been conservative - and as you said - not in anyone’s face.
They were good folks, and all the best to them.
I’m sorry to hear that, it only take one experience like that to cause a visceral reaction to this garbage. This is exactly why there’s a growing backlash against the LGBT nonsense, it’s institutional tyranny of normal people.
